i use mplayerplug-in in firefox, and open stuff with vlc when mplayerplug-in doesn't recognize it

speaking of firefox crashing, i finally found/remembered how to fix it (with composite causing it) its the xarg no gl visuals or something like that option ! HOORAY ! i can view fancy sites and flash again

I'm noticing some strange problems: various places on my desktop and applications, the text disappears. when I highlight it, or force the UI to so some sort of text refresh, it comes back, and then disappears again.. I don't know what's going on

while i downloading it i saw a .iso it says "downloading live cd installer-2006.0 .iso
so i dont need to extract it anymore??
