Buh
Quotacheck wants to check the filesystem read only, and the man page tells you not to try to do it in RW-mode
What's up with that?
Quotacheck tries to remount the filesystem read only
but it'll like, never succeed
There are always programs with open files on the fs
Should one just ignore it and force quotacheck to do the checks without remounting the filesystem read only?
Autie
dunno who one is, depends, if you hate one, yes, if you like him, no
sjk
THERE YOU ARE
Autie
yes
Psych

Psych
Fruitw00t ._.
Fruitw00t
I'm trying something with the old computer of my sister
trying to install gentoo
weird cuz the kernel wont boot at all
the livecd kernel
:S
Autie
let us try something with the sister, while you're busy with her old computer
Fruitw00t
yeah right !
my sister don't need help :P
Autie
Fruitw00t: what pc are you talking about, and what livecd?
Fruitw00t
I will look on the forums
P1 200 mhz
MMX
Autie
ok
Fruitw00t
2005.01
Autie
sounds good
Fruitw00t
yep
Autie

Fruitw00t
hmm I guess I've got the x86 ...
Autie
i guess you're wrong :p
Fruitw00t
cuz I've got all the stages on it
what do you mean by what ISO ? :P
Autie
you realy have to be sure on that
the iso file you have download to make a livecd
x86 is the one you need
Fruit
sorry
my sister got a call
:P
yeah hmmm I'm not sure I d/l it months ago
hah my fruiwoot user timed out exactly when I received a call 4 hours from where the computer of this user is
:P
Psych

oki I see ..
If I've downloaded the athlon XP ISO ...
then it will crashed
there is no option to pass to the kernel to make it work ?

Psych
Good Morning Fruitw00t.
Fruitw00t
Ash*taka: livecd kernel wont boot
on a PI MMX 200 Mhz
it's the same cd I used to install gentoo on my athlonXP machine
I think I've downloaded the AthlonXP ISO ...
there is no possibilities to pass an option on the kernel to make it work ?
oki ...
probably because of the 'default' profile ...
:S
too bad my XP machine is 4 hours of road from here ... and it's a 56K connection here :S
oki
yeah it wont boot at all
it don't crashed just don't coming up
well ..
thanks :)
that's make sense
-'s
well I've got a old 5.x red hat cd here
haha
this house got all my old stuff :)
HeppyCat
tired
that and its likely your cdrom in that box is too old to read your burned disk
and its go home time
Psych
lenox you're looking especially shagworthy today
lenox
thanks
Psych
Knickers.
NetBSD
what do you guys use to edit the fonts and colors in gtk aps?
Psych
cold
lenox
themes
NetBSD
lenox: well yeah but sometimes the fonts in a theme suck
Psych
Theme = crap-account.
NetBSD
i hate how big some fonts are
Gidzz0r
theme = cap fu*k
i am teh drunk
lenox
well then you should edit a theme
NetBSD
lenox: ummm isnt that what i just asked?
changing the fonts and colors would be modifying the current theme
lenox
all you need is a text editor, smart guy
NetBSD
lenox: theres one answer from one user
was shooting twords more of a GUI tho
the misses dont like VI
lenox
all you have to do is edit the gtkrc of a file
of a theme, rather
NetBSD
yeah thats how ive been doing it
lenox
considering it's a text file...it would make sense to use a text editor; i don't think a better way really exists
Psych
What a nice man.
beek
To activate a higher resolution, you have to add some parameters to the kernel commandline:
would that mean, in grub?
lenox
it's talking about framebuffer
beek
yeah, im back to that again
lenox
like video= or vga= etc
beek
but where would i put the commands it gives?
Psych
re
Gidzz0r
fuxx teh framebuffer!!111
lenox
video= goes on kernel line and controls display options such as ywrap and mtrr which speed up framebuffer scrolling
vga= goes on kernel line and controls the resolution and colour depth of framebuffer
beek: on the kernel line
which is the one that mentions the kernel
beek
in my bootloader?
lenox
in grub.conf
kernel=(hd0,0)/boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda3 video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x31A
beek
gotcha
lenox
there's one
beek
thanks
lenox
for instance
np
Gurkan
something is broken and it's not your fault?
Gidzz0r
Gurkan: your'e teh fault
beek
hmm. I've got the lil 640x480 display in the middle of my screen. is that still a framebuffer issue, I must wonder ?
Gidzz0r
me helps ou with teh wondering
+t
beek
thanks, yo.
Psych
