has devfs support been removed from 2.6.15? i can't find it in psuedo fs's
s0ulslack
indeed, since 2.6.13 iirc
HeppyCat
udev
akira
ah sh*t. that would explain why i kernel panic right after i boot to the kernel
zaei
llllllllenox:
s0ulslack
indeed, time for udev :-)
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/udev-guide.xml covers migrating from devfs to udev
akira
they have kept the depricated OSS in the kernel since 2.4.18, but they can't keep devfs around?
s0ulslack
lol true
since I'm bored off my ass, anyone that has any nick corrections/aliases for http://soul.f2o.org/stats/gentoo-unet.php lemmie know
Gurkan
aww
(Action) hugs s0ulslack

s0ulslack
for anyone that cares anyway :-p
(Action) smacks Gurkan in the nuts
Gurkan
(Action) slays s0ulslack back with zaei. my precious
s0ulslack
hah
fixed :-)
got that one, dunno why pisg doesn't alias the nick for some of the stats like that
lenox
0/url last
err
lol@my quote
s0ulslack
also fixed Dreadfull``5
indeed, cohonen_uni is wrong
hrm, I should try to contact the pisg dev
if the user changes nicks it should track it, regardless of host... but sometimes they join/part with diff nicks and the bot doesn't catch the change

Well, thankfully I was able to reprogram those cyborgs at the last minute, and send them off to do HORRIBLE THINGS to the humans.
s0ulslack
updated, most the nicks etc should be corrected now (atleast what was pointed out:))
mmm, and a pizza for me.. yay
zaei
Mmmm, pizza.
s0ulslack
damn good too
HeppyCat
curses!
goddamn sip phone wont register to asterisk
Agios
how come?
HeppyCat
must be
but i dnuni
dunno
there isnt much to setup
just an [entry] in sip.conf
Agios
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+config+sip.conf

HeppyCat
pretty simple huh Agios
Agios
yeah, nothing to it LOL
HeppyCat
well now
at least i am getting errors now
Agios
how much are you paying for VOIP?
HeppyCat
usage
through nufone.net
2c/min in 10 sec bits
Agios
not bad
HeppyCat
did is $7.50/month
unlimited incoming on it
toll free is 2c incoming
w00t it's registered
now to the dialplan...
schweet
i can receive calls
uh huh
and now i can receive calls on my toll free as well
now to place calls...
NiteWrap
Running emerge -u system, installs updated packages right?
portages that is
theBear
try emerge -puv system first and you will see what you will see... but it SHOULD update a lot of stuff if you've synced
NiteWrap
right know it's updating 8 out of 35
theBear
right now...
s0ulslack
http://www.xfce.org/~korbinus/images/euro_vs_america.jpg
hahah mmm, euro good
theBear
hehehehe ! NICE
so has anyone ever tried this polypaudio thing with gentoo ?
s0ulslack
newp, haven't even read/heard about it
NiteWrap
once it downloaded how do I install it?
HeppyCat
rockin
heh heh heh
theBear
hmmm.... its kinda like nas.... which is LOOSELY like esound..... basically its got the usual oss/alsa/blah inputs, also native inputs, and its a sound system.... only thing with polypaudio is its VERY simple code-wise, works with modules for all kinds of handy stuff, AND has fancy syncronisation stuff.... IE. you can play a vid with mplayer on one machine connected to a projector, then have 5 other networked machines ALL playing the
audio in PERFECT sample for sample sync
NiteWrap, if you type emerge -u system then it is downloading AND building AND installing as we speak
HeppyCat
anyone know an extremely simple extensions.conf line for dialing out?
all i can find are outrageously complex menu systems
theBear
what is extensions.conf for ?
HeppyCat
asterisk
i gave up on my sparc for now
a-evol
asterisk@home is so much easier
s0ulslack
hrm, sounds nice
NiteWrap
I did not find a simple conf for asterisk
HeppyCat
and now have asterisk running on a debian box
heh
NiteWrap
unless get asterisk @ home
yes
HeppyCat
a-evol someone else has mentioned that
what is it
NiteWrap
asterisk for the home
hah
a-evol
asteriskathome.sourceforge.net or something
theBear
NAS sounds good too, its supported with ebuilds and stuff already, BUT i'm not sure it can network-sync sound, which is what i REALLY want.... oh yeah... polypaudio ALSO has a module for advertising an output, so you can "browse" the network for a set of speakers to play on....
a-evol
it's a 'ready to go' installation cd
google and find it
theBear
gay ! sparc-gentoo ROCKS
NiteWrap
expect it installs as it's own OS
HeppyCat
yeah rupert, now that ive got everything config'd right on a pc
theBear
i gotta admit this mpd thing zaei always tells me to get is kinda cool....
HeppyCat
once i figure out how to hell to get asterisk to run on sparc with mpg123
i can just copy my configs over :)
theBear
hmmm....
s0ulslack
mpd owns you and your dog!
theBear
i don't have a dog :(
s0ulslack
theBear: what frontend you using?
theBear: thats cause mpd owned the beeotch!
NiteWrap
Heppycat. Do you have a FXS card?
HeppyCat
no NiteWrap, i dont have sh*t for interface cards
theBear
combination of xmms plugin, kmp and gmpc at the moment... each of those 2 are o.k... but lack a couple of things, like one can't change playlist order, and the other makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE to load a webradio....
NiteWrap
Do you have ANY interface cards?
HeppyCat
ive got a grandstream phone, and two accounts through nufone
s0ulslack
theBear: check out the gmpc-svn, its alot diff then the latest stable
HeppyCat
toll free to sip and did to iax
theBear
i like the xmms one.... has basic playlist stuff, normal transport, volume, title, time and fancy drag and drop and middle-click stuff for web-radio's
s0ulslack, thats in portage right ?
s0ulslack
theBear: I have some handy ebuilds that compile plugins etc, http://soul.f2o.org/gmpc-svn/
NiteWrap
nufone is free?
HeppyCat
oh no, they are definately not free
theBear
s0ulslack, nice
NiteWrap
That's what I thought
s0ulslack
theBear: qball (the gmpc author) is playing with moving the playlist around, its abit of a pita
NiteWrap
hehe
HeppyCat
but they're damn cheap
NiteWrap
How cheap is cheap?
theBear
i get a feeling its the ONLY player for linux OR win that handles web-radio disconnect/reconnects properly....
HeppyCat
2c/min billed in 10 sec blocks
NiteWrap
nice
HeppyCat
for outgoing
s0ulslack
theBear: it works great with streams here :-)
