I AM THE INFLUENCE!
EwIck
you mean under the influence?
xum
no, i am the influence. i influence others to do things they otherwise wouldn't think of doing on their own, like mass suicide ... i'm still working on that one but i will succeed.

c question (if anyone from here can help): how can I read/write from memory having a segment and an offset (will be running in real mode)?
edcba
mov ax,segment mov ds,ax mov al,[offset]

Chiu_Lee
so I'm stuck to writing an asm function for that, eh? thought there is a way to do it without a helper function.

Chiu_Lee, here you go: please paste your code here: http://mishu.eu.org/paste/ or here: http://rafb.net/paste
Chiu_Lee
can someone please look over this: http://rafb.net/paste/results/PZO3Wq45.html and tell me what I am doing wrong?
EwIck
func1: does not define a function
it's just a jump label
Chiu_Lee
I just started with nasm a few weeks back and for some reason that's what I understood about asm functions.
how should I go about it?
EwIck
look up "proc" in the manual
rod
EwIck
how's ur job going?
Chiu_Lee
EwIck .. as I see, the proc is used with rdf. there is also some macro with the same name. so should I use the rdf and modify the compiler scwithes accordingly, or use the macro and modify the functions accordingly?
EwIck
I've never used nasm

oh ... well ... in that case: anybody else can help me?
