murb
pencilandpaper: there was, but prehaps they've turned it off?
Peng

It's off until the abuse stops, I guess.
murb

o/ I've setup a little hiddenservice and just want to change the Tor connecting users from 127.0.0.1 to 127.0.0.2 is there a setting for doing that?
arma
Sheogorath: outboundbindaddress might do what you want. maybe.
Sheogorath
thanks arma, I'll try
mhm results a "Problem bootstrapping. Stuck at 80%: Connecting to the Tor network. (Invalid argument; RESOURCELIMIT; count 47; recommendation warn)"
maxxer
Sheogorath, arma: isn't it more likely to be HiddenServicePort 80 127.0.0.2:80
Sheogorath
the problem is: it's IRC and there are bots and Bouncers running on and if someone some uses Tor and hit a Filter it'll kill all 127.0.0.1 connections
soe the problem is not the dest ip it's the source address

Gentoo-007
Hello.
I was wondering how TOR URLs are generated.
I am planning on hosting a hidden service.
Gentoo-006
Anyone here?
mrphs
Gentoo-006: read man page maybe?
it's called hidden service and those addresses are onion address.
Gentoo-006
I don't think there is a man page for that.
I know.
mrphs
https://www.torproject.org/docs/hidden-services.html.en
man page of tor, explains it
and also if you take a look at your torrc file
Gentoo-006
Thanks.

RTFM is the convergent point of evolution that all helpers arrive at sooner or later :)
wardial
time and effort went into those man pages
mancha
degree of insanity of helpers is directly correlated to the amount of time to converge to RTFM
scientists believe this to be causal, with mental health being the collateral damage.
velope
speak o' th' devil
checks
hello all

mancha
sometimes an onion is just an onion!
checks
i tried to install tor browser, but all the videos are blank
it used to work fine, not sure why it doesn't work on this install
any ideas?
hahah awesome how oftc doesn't mask our ip addresses
lets give these gov't agents a good list....../facepalm
mancha
check your security settings
wardial
that's for you to sort out
checks
so any ideas why all the videos in tor browser are blank?
is it this new version? lol
mancha
checks: ^^
<mancha> check your security settings
checks
so it for me to sort out?
mrphs
checks: maybe they are flash videos?
checks
i'm on inux i'm not sure what you mean security settings?
nah youtube uses html5 now
mancha
click the little onion
velope
torbrowser settings
youtube is a mix of html5 video and flash
mancha
it should have "privacy and security settings"
and such
checks
mancha: security settings are on low default
mancha
is flash disabled?
checks
any other ideas, i'm on linux
mancha: yes, that shouldn't be the issue though
i can enable it and see what happens I guess, I shouldn't have to though
mancha
it might be, youtube will not send you html5 video if it's not available or if your browser doesn't advertise support.
checks
mancha: i'm using the tor browser man
velope
flash doesn't work in torbrowser, even if the settings look like it's enabled
checks
what do you mean "my browser"
velope: exactly
velope
(by design)
checks
velope: youtube videos should automatically use htlm5 in the tor browser, the video plays, but its just black
i can't figure out why, i never had this problem before, i'm on a new linux install
velope
could be system video libraries
checks
velope: how do I check that?
velope
google a lot, cry a little
checks
not helping
frel
Hi there! In tor-browser for OS X I can see the hops when I click on the onion-icon. In linux it is not shown.. Will this feature come?
checks
velope: maybe i ahve to give up on tor browser after this new vesion?
velope
unlikely. but you might have to work for it.
mancha
frel: it's there all over i believe. but you lied a bit. bad bad pinnochio
checks
could it be because i'm using open source video drivers this time intead of the proprietary nvidia?
velope
possibly
mancha
on linux you're actually using tails
^^ probably
frel
mancha: sorry?
Yes I am
mancha
frel: when you say linux, do you mean tails?
checks
oh well i guess i ahve to give up on the tor browser now
mancha: no man
a regular linux distro
tor is prolly just a gov't trap now anyways lol
frel
mancha: yes I am
mancha
frel: tails tor browser is not the same as what the tor project ships.
you have found one such difference.
checks
i think i need the tails tor browser for my distro hahah
velope
video drivers in tails are older versions
frel
mancha: Ah ok... Do you know why ?
