Syngress
Sure, example can be helpful
bugoff
NoiseEee: But its setup seems so damn complicated.
But I'll try to force myself to read its endless manual later.
NoiseEee
bugoff: im sure there are some quick guides out there. :)
bugoff: its really not that complicated to set up
bugoff
NoiseEee: I don't want "some" or "out there": I want it right on their official site, and I only need one: the correct one. :/
Maybe not, but they make it seem so complicated.
I'm also looking for a PHP function that can take "HSB" color input (three values) and then spit out a #HEXCODE. I've been unable to find such a thing.
Syngress
stercor: i need something that detect long white space between string
and <br /> it
Bad_Advice_Cat
(Action) wonders if bugoff likes http://hslpicker.com/
capnklutch
When I submit a form and the data in a field is empty, it doesn't have the input name in the post request, why is that?
Bad_Advice_Cat
"HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminosity) allows us to describe meaningful relationships between colors."
stercor
strtok skips whatever you give it, whitespace(s) included. Every one of 'em.

can i avoid the browser back button / resubmit post data situation ?
Bad_Advice_Cat
kdehl
So, um, if I do a GET request to a webserver that gives me a session cookie, and later specify that cookie manually, when does the session really die off on the server? I waited 90 minutes and it was still alive. I thought default was 24 minuter, no?
Bad_Advice_Cat
Oh wait... That's for something else.
NoiseEee
Bad_Advice_Cat: nah thats it
Bad_Advice_Cat
aias, this does solve the "resubmit post data situation"
Syngress
stercor: even when i have something like that ? (string string strriiiiing stringstring stringstring string) ?
Bad_Advice_Cat
NoiseEee, I wasn't sure about the back-button thing.
stercor
Yes, unless you want to get rid of the extra 'i's...that's another problem.
strtok is a bit tricky...
Syngress
no i need to put <br /> between those 2 long spaces
stercor: can you show example ?
Bad_Advice_Cat
stercor, this is beginning to smell like an XY problem.
stercor
XY?
Bad_Advice_Cat
!+xy
php-bot
The X-Y problem is when you want to do X, but you don't know how. You think you can hack X if you can just do Y, but you don't know how to do Y either. You ask (us) for help with Y. We think Y is a strange problem to want to solve... So just ask us about X. [See: http://xyproblem.info/ ]
Sammitch
kdehl: PHP cleans up sessions via a garbage collection process that is run every X requests, so if your server doesn't get a lot of hits the sessions might live longer than you expect. see: http://stackoverflow.com/a/1270960/1064767
kdehl
Sammitch: Ah, I see.
stercor
Bad_Advice_Cat: How would you do it?
Bad_Advice_Cat
I'm waiting for Syngress to mention where he/she getting this data from, as context matters.
Syngress
look, case is simple, you have string (aaaaaa aaa aaaa bbbbbb bbbb bbbbbb ccccc ccc cccc ) all i need to do, is to put <br /> between those 2 long space's
so i need to check that string contains long spaces, and breake it
question is, how :) ?
Bad_Advice_Cat
Case is, why.

Br0totype
Don't hurt me
Bad_Advice_Cat
I thought stercor gave an answer. So... What's up with that, Syngress?
stercor
Syngress: the long spaces? Uh, oh.
Syngress
well, not for me
Bad_Advice_Cat
I don't really care to solve such case. :/
NoiseEee
Syngress: regex for whitespace longer than one character?
stercor
I'm an old C programmer...I'd use pointers to count spaces. strtok removes all of them.
NoiseEee: Beautiful!
Br0totype
You're beautiful!
Syngress
Thanks NoiseEee, i try that way
NoiseEee
o.k.
Sammitch
preg_replace('/ {2,}/', '<br/>', $string); now go work on the Z problem :P
stercor
Antergos running live...LOOKS nice.
delboy1978uk
can anyone help me get this sort rocking? http://viper-7.com/2PVtua

thebuccaneersden
someone fart?
delboy1978uk
lol
thebuccaneersden
:p
delboy1978uk
the php docs for arrayIterator::uasort havent been written, can anyone help me get this happening? http://viper-7.com/2PVtua
Sammitch
delboy1978uk: you're not giving an array to uasort() to sort. :I
lenswipe
(Action) returns
_xXTaha_ProXx_
what to use to know if there is something in an array?
Ravenmire
Heh...from antergos... I'll --- of course --- have to install irssi.
capnklutch
On PHP 5.6 = Like if <input type=text name=name> is empty, instead of $_POST[name] being it just doesnt even get posted
Not on 5.5
Sammitch
_xXTaha_ProXx_: a specific something, or anything?
capnklutch
Why is that
_xXTaha_ProXx_
S specific
a*
I tried item_in_array() but Undefined...
Help?
delboy1978uk
Sammitch: its a method inside an arrayiterator, you just pass it the comparitor function
Sammitch
_xXTaha_ProXx_: a specific key: `isset($arr['key']);` a specific value: `in_array($needle, $haystack);`
luist
how can i print a DOMNode before 5.3.6? :P
_xXTaha_ProXx_
Thanks :)
delboy1978uk
bu check this, it appears to sort, but i think the catch is it hasnt reindexed itself? http://viper-7.com/VXd4yY
first item is [2], then [1] then [0]
Sammitch
delboy1978uk: yes, because any form of asort maintains index association
delboy1978uk
so is ksort what im after?
Ravenmire
\join #antergos
Bad_Advice_Cat
Ravenmire, having fun? :D
Ravenmire
Yup. It's going to stay longer than 5 minutes.
One quick question...how do I get to the command line?
Ctrl-T doesn't do it.
NoiseEee
wat
Ravenmire
And a search didn't yield anything useful.
bugoff
Bad_Advice_Cat: I see no code. As usual, you give bad avice.
*advice
Bad_Advice_Cat
bugoff, the point is, hsl is better than hsb. Did you read the reasoning?
luist
how to get the host name of a full URL?
Bad_Advice_Cat
Mainly, just thought you might be interested in hsl <-- There are different use cases, bugoff.
If you want relationship between colors, hsl is the thing. ;)
Alphos
luist !+parse_url
php-bot
luist, mixed parse_url(string url, [int url_component]) - Parse a URL and return its components - http://php.net/parse_url
Bad_Advice_Cat
That's how you get consistent darker/lighter colors of the same hue.
stercor
Bad_Advice_Cat: I agree on HSLA and HSB
Bad_Advice_Cat
bugoff, and there is no php function to do what you asked.
You will have to write it yourself from scratch, or find a library.
Alphos
Bad_Advice_Cat : HSB is color-space dependant, it doesn't make any sense to have a webserver-based library
Sammitch
delboy1978uk: I think you just want plain old usort.
marcv
Hello, I'm on macosx. And mkdir($dir, 0777, true) generates a dir with 0755. Can anyone tell me where could be the problem?
luist
Alphos: thanks
