Stormchaser
just a wild guess... copy()?
kuja
In the context of remote-local there's no such as copying. It's calling downloading... you know, like everything else?
copy() will work though... duh?
p0windah
is it really necessary to use so much techno babble ?
Stormchaser
p0windah: You want to hear more?
p0windah
I'm confused enough as it is
kuja
p0windah: Yes, because the way he's sayin' things, I don't know what he means. When someone says "copy" I immediately think they want to copy one file to another destination, LOCALLY
It's common sense.
p0windah
copy, what the hell is copy ?
kuja
When you're dealing with remote stuff, it's called downloading/uploading
p0windah
?

Julian|Work
Does it matter what you call it>?
p0windah
kuja: are we talking about computer stuff ?
kuja
Julian|Work: Didn't I explain in?
Or were you not reading?
Stormchaser: *kill ##php* feeling is stepping through
Julian|Work
You explained why it shouldn't be called copying, but I don't see why.
kuja
Julian|Work: Because it's misleading and confusing?
Julian|Work
copy() will work fine if the source if remote and the usual options are set.
Stormchaser
(Action) kands kuja a big cannon
s/kands/hands
Julian|Work
kuja, if that's your gripe, there are plenty of other sore spots to check. copy() isn't a big deal.
kuja
Julian|Work: It's a convenience, the function's behavior that is.
p0windah
when this is done, I shall be handing out bling
Julian|Work
So I should distinguish between "convenience" functionality and real functionality in PHP? If it works, it works.
kuja
Julian|Work: What is in discussion now is the terminilogy. As you can see, it took tecnoba_ like 5 minutes to get a straight answer.
Julian|Work
Alright, you made your case for terminology.
kuja
t e r m i n o l o g y
:P
I was never arguing functionality, *never*
So pay attention
p0windah
yes you were
we all saw it
kuja
:P
p0windah
anywho, night girls

hey
i dont know whats wrong
http://gwireless.sourceforge.net/GoogleMap/InsertWayPoint.phps
if i load http://gwireless.sourceforge.net/GoogleMap/InsertWayPoint.php?type=13&id=0
Stormchaser

i get Error on: UPDATE gps set type="13" where id='0' :
if i execute that query diectlry in the mysql console client, it works...
how do i get more info about whats happening?

Julian|Work
killfill: mysql_error()
Maybe 'type' is a reserved word.
Try UPDATE `gps` SET `type` = 13 WHERE `id` = 0;
killfill
if you try with "name" its the same thing..
Julian|Work
join #mysql and say: !m reserved words
killfill
hm..
Error on UPDATE gps set type="13" where id='0' : Query was empty
¿?
query empty?
sketch|work
... someone was talking about an array function yesterday .. takes in a string, returns it as an array .. whats the function name?
kuja
killfill: Ask MySQL questions in #mysql
sketch|work: explode() ?
pizza_
killfill: perhaps 'type' is reserved? try `type`
killfill
kuja: i think its pretty much php, as if i copy/paste into a mysql console cliente, it works...
sketch|work
kuja: wasnt explode ... i want to get every character as an array element .. it was a string function actually
kuja
Query was empty was reported by MySQL, correct?
killfill
Error on UPDATE gps set name="Mine" where id='0' : Query was empty
kuja
sketch|work: str_split()
killfill
yup, my mysql_error()

MikeH
guys, can anyone recommend a nice and simple wiki system to use for a dev project
kuja
killfill: #mysql
sketch|work
kuja: that'd be it, cheers
kuja
Mike: <insert random wiki here>
MikeH ^^
Julian|Work
mediawiki!
MikeH
I don't know any at all
kuja
Usually any wiki is suitable
MikeH
http://hantslug.org.uk/ <-- I quite like the simpleness of that
Stormchaser
moinmoin!
:)
Julian|Work
It's not very simple, but it's nice and easy to set up.
MikeH
I tried tikiwiki, but it seems all too much
killfill
hm..
damn..
grunthus
Hello, is there a way to grab a single keypress in php cli, without waiting for return key?
pizza_
NOPE
killfill
im lost.. :-/
Julian|Work
killfill, try using single quotes on both.
And backquote your table and column names.
"echo execute($query);"
Are you sure execute() is actually passing the query you're sending to it?
Maybe it's using the wrong argument.
killfill
pph crap
Julian|Work
function execute($sql){ $result = mysql_query($query); ...
killfill
Julian|Work: :-p you totally right.. :-p
Julian|Work
Error messages are very insightful-- if the query'
s empty, check the call. :P
killfill
:-)
thanks!
Julian|Work
Yup
Jymmm
Okey... no nakkid pics, worse!
kbrooks
why is the banlist so ernomous?
Jymmm
kbrooks one ban for every one that asks about the ban list
Fanskapet
hmm anyone know how to configure httpd.conf to run php as cgi?
kbrooks
Jymmm, act serious
Fanskapet
i must run it as cgi since the mod_php seems to have a nasty bug
Jymmm
kbrooks dont give me any lip.
kbrooks

Fanskapet: What bug?
Fanskapet
that script works like a charm in commonline bash
but when i try to run it within the browser it seems like php kills the httpd session for the webbrowser
the script starts all the convert exec's but then the script totally stops
none of the echo's after that row is being output at all.
Stormchaser
Fanskapet: Have you looked at error_log?
ds-
I would have to say it depends on the neighbors
oops
(Action) slaps himself for not looking at the scrollbar before typing
Fanskapet
Stormchaser: yes.. shows nothing.
MonsieurBon
hello. Can i somehow delete a cookie?
Stormchaser
Fanskapet: Then it doesn';t crash the server.
MonsieurBon: set your expiration time in the past.
Fanskapet: there is probably some fundamental flaw in your script
Fanskapet
Stormchaser: yes.. but explain why the scripts outputs my echo rows when i run it in bash?
/usr/local/bin/php /my/script
MonsieurBon
Stormchaser, it will not be sent to the server anymore, then?
Stormchaser
Fanskapet: You're probably running some programs, that require a further access to FS than just what is permitted to apache user...
MonsieurBon: no
Fanskapet
Stormchaser: no.. since the part of exec works
Stormchaser: even though im running it via the httpd
Stormchaser: the convert app succeds in converting the images
Stormchaser: it's just the part afterwards that isn't being displayed.. (if i comment the exec row the rest of the script works)
Newhydra
if I have a php script called "page" and I have .htaccess setup to force "page" to be read as a php file, how can I have images linked to from page figure out that they should use www.domain.com/images/image_name instead of www.domain.com/page/images/image_name?
MonsieurBon
Stormchaser, thank you
Stormchaser
Fanskapet: Pastebin
Newhydra
they need to figure it out because the page can be accessed either through www.domain.com/ or www.domain.com/page/
Fanskapet
Stormchaser: what should i put in pastebin?
Stormchaser
Fanskapet: I'm guessing your script?
davidbest
can i only run php gtk apps via command line?
Stormchaser
yes
davidbest
so is it possible to make windows applications in php with a reasonable interface
Fanskapet
ahh
Stormchaser: http://pastebin.com/531061
Julian|Work
davidbest: define a "Windows application"
Fanskapet
sorry thought i pasted that before :D
DjDarkPingvin
hello
echo "<body style="color: rgb(1, 1, 1); background-color: rgb(117, 151, 219);" alink="#ffffff" link="#ffffff" vlink="#ffffff">";
Fanskapet
just forget about the mysql_escape_string :)
Stormchaser
davidbest: you *want* anything else BUT php-gtk
DjDarkPingvin
this isn`t correct
davidbest
like a vb looking application on the start menu that will allow me to manipulate a database of contacts
DjDarkPingvin
how is it correct?
Julian|Work
DjDarkPingvin, no it's not correct. You need to escape your quotes
Stormchaser
DjDarkPingvin: true
