wtf @ oracle's xslt implementation in 10gR1.. :/
if I use the document() xpath function (specified in the xslt 1.0 standard) -anywhere- in the stylesheet, that document works, but suddenly the main input document becomes inaccessible using absolute paths however I try
(and this is only the fifth bug in the xslt processor that proved problematic for me, but for all the others I found hackish workarounds)
I'm using xmltype.transform btw, not xsl_processor or java
suddenly / becomes the root of the document referenced, and not only that, it's the -root- of the document in the XML DB, which UNLIKE document('/path/my/xml/doc.xml') is the 'Resource' element with acls and other metadata, so document('/path/my/xml/doc.xml') is the same node as /Resource/Contents whenever I use that document function anywhere in my xslt! (I just checked with copy-of)
/ still should point to the original source document of course
man, AGAIN I found a workaround.. this ONLY happens when the document function gets evaluated before the actual processing (output production) step begins, in other words, when I set a variable or parameter using the document function.. sigh
sh*t. No it doesn't. It was just that variable evaluation happens out of order, while in a template, it happens in-order, apparently.. so <root><xsl:copy-of select="/"/></root><xsl:variable name="doc" select="document('/path/my/xml/doc.xml')"/><root><xsl:copy-of select="/"/></root> gives two DIFFERENT root elements

maybe document namespace

prodcutnews
dear room, i would like to a silly question, pls allow though it is off-topic, i tried downloading oracle developer suite from oracle site with firefox browser, after 60% power went away, and i was no where left with resume option, there's only retry ..which again starts dumping from begining of the file... i got xxx.part files on my desktop. now i have put with flashgot, but how to resume my work...
mgolisch
no idea
also resuming only works if the server supports it
prodcutnews
but mgo .. understand my situation ? out of 1.5 gb, i have 650mb and so with me, i cant take pain of starting again from begining
there should be someway, for sure
mgolisch
if you somehow manage to login or use the session coockie from your browser session
if i remember correctly all links allways redirect to a login page first
maybe they have direct ftp access to stuff too somewhere
no idea

Is there a way to temporarly name a long expression so you don't have to repeat it? I want to do something like (x between 7 and 9 or x between 100 and 103 ... etc ...) but X is actually a long expression that I don't want to repeat over and over. Any suggestions?
In Perl or something I'd say my $x = <long expression>; ($x >= 7 and $x <= 9) or ($x >= 100 and $x <= 103) ...
karlb
Skolem: if X is a subquery, using WITH clause might help.
Skolem
It isn't...
mgolisch
use variables?
if its plsql
Skolem
It isn't...
Stupid SQL.

Hi, I am trying to compile the oci8 module for PHP using Oracle's instant client package and pecl. The building fails when make is executed (http://pastebin.com/i2ELtw6F). I did not find any referrence to this on the Internet. What could be causing it? Thanks a lot
If you need some more information, I can provide ;)

what is command for counting words from column, and where i can find all pl/sql commande
with decryption?
m0t3jl
hypno, I'm trying to find which ones would that be.
hypno, I've the basic and sdk Oracle packages installed.
hypno, I tried grepping for that 'OCI_ATTR_SPOOL_AUTH', but it's not in any of the libraries and headers I have...
hypno
m0t3jl: i did a sweep here as well and didnt find anything. did you look in the php-module directory?
m0t3jl
hypno, where is that?
hypno
m0t3jl: /tmp/pear/temp/oci8 ?
m0t3jl: you are using some linux buildsystem?
m0t3jl: /var/tmp/pear-build-root/oci8-1.4.1/ ?
m0t3jl
hypno, just pecl
hypno, and it seems pecl erases the /tmp/pecl/temp directory ;) There is /tmp/pecl/temp and /tmp/pecl/cache, but they are empty ;)

hypno
i know nothing about pecl. i'm generally a BSD user.
m0t3jl
hypno, where would I download an OCI8 package myself and try compiling it by hand?
hypno
http://pecl.php.net/package/oci8 eh?
m0t3jl
hypno, success, I downloaded an older oci8 and it compiles just fine ;)
hypno, but that's just strange ;)
