have pages at developer.mozilla.org a better method to specify a point in a source code file than to specify line number?
Ivo
anyone work on the mozilla python projects Circus / Chaussette around here? Is the IRC channel just dead?
coolstar-pc
I've noticed with firefox on a touch screen that the zoom is quite choppy
kbrosnan
Ivo: is it django based? if so then #webdev on irc.mozilla.org would be a place to ask
Ivo
kbrosnan: no, its socket manager and web application server
kbrosnan
qq[IrcCity]: guess you could point to a search for the method name on dxr.m.o
Ivo: github project?
have a link?
Ivo
https://circus.readthedocs.org/en/latest/
kbrosnan
looks like they suggest #circus-tent on this server, though many of the devs can be found on irc.mozilla.org as well
though from the sounds of it you found that already
i know tarek can be found on irc.mozilla.org
though eu so getting late
though it does look to be active, there are recent merges to the project
as is k4nar

Did 42.0b1 break something with SSL / EV Certs?
somehow, even DV certs get a green padlock, and EV certs only get a green padlock, no name.

Peng
I just Googled it, and from what i saw, 42 changes the padlock icon for non-EV certs, and removes the green bar for EVs valid for an excessively long time (displaying them the same as a non-EV site).
I'm running 43 and looking at a green bar with name right now, so..
cbreak
interesting, thanks
maybe this is the preparation to make self-signed certs get a grey padlock and http a broken red padlock with skull&crossbones
nate
As far as I recalled DV's always got a green or grey padlock? EV's got the full green bar
oh wait what, if an EV has a long expiry they no longer show the green bar? lol
Peng
like, 3.25 years, which is way past the rules
nate
admittedly didn't even realize EV had age limits
cbreak
https://www.paypal.com/ch/webapps/mpp/home
begins: 15.04.22, ends: 15.11.01
looks like a normal cert
Calomel addon says firefox claims it's DV, but it is issued by Symantec Class 3 EV SSL CA - G2
nate
well as far as my FF is concerned it's showing a green bar implying EV to me
but yes it is using a symantic CA
cbreak
no green bar here.
(with 42)
Peng
Green bar for me in 43.
nate: All certs have age limits. 39 months (3 years 3 months) i think. As of the bug about the EV change, the EV rule was 27 months (2 years 3 months) but there was ongoing discussion among the CA/B Forum of raising it to 39.
nate: Everybody was more than a little unhappy about ye olde 1024-bit, SHA-1 certs valid for like ten years.
nate
that's why we have revokation
cbreak
why not make new certs every few months?
nate
I prefer going year to year myself, but that's mainly because I'm making use of HPKP personally

qq[IrcCity]
where the source code of the information about page dialog is located?
Cork
qq[IrcCity]: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/browser/base/content/
qq[IrcCity]
Cork: its een more JS than XUL? amazing.
Cork
een more?
even more?
firefox is an xulrunner application (for a little while more) so of course it uses that
RiverX
hi
what does "Module /usr/lib*.so could not be stored" mean?
why is it trying to store there?
and what?
also
how do I hide the tab&toolbar? as an avid user of pentadactyl/vimperator, the menubar looks woefully redundant
s/menubar/toolbar/

RiverX: :set guioptions-=m
uhh, sorry, not m, but it's one of them
t I think it is?

hello
could someone tell me if it is possible to disable a shortcut in firefox. I want to disable CTRL-W (same as delete previous word in bash/readline)
I managed to solve my problem using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/customizable-shortcuts/

auscompgeek
I personally just use Vimperator :P
Cork
DavidFromBE: yes you can, there is an extension that lets you modify shortcuts
DavidFromBE
Cork: yes, problem solved. Thanks
Cork
DavidFromBE: i can recommend "menu wizard" it has a nicer interface
and you can modify the menus when your at it :)
bing
hey folks, i'm looking at: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/toolkit/components/feeds/nsIFeedEntry.idl
and i'm wondering what "enclosures" is an nsIArray of.
answer, it is a nsIWritablePropertyBag2
mebus
Hi! I always was able to use ctrl+K to jump to the search field, but now this has been mapped to ctrl+J. What can I do to fix this?
DavidFromBE
mebus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/customizable-shortcuts/
or as Cork mentioned earlier: menu wizard

hi
I am trying to read a pdf on firefox by dragging it into the browser, but a download window shows up instead.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I already tried this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-issues-with-plugins-fix-problems#w_re-initializing-the-plugins-database
