fsociety[00]dat
b0at, I tried the site specific zoom off but it doesn't work because of I use Firefox with "Never remember history" option, I think.
Default zoom level option must be in Firefox for other releases.
We don't need to install an addon for these simple things.
This is my suggestion and request.
b0at
cyberfox and palemoon (and the tor browser) are the builds i know of that modify it enough that they might have added such an option
cyberfox is windows only, palemoon is highly opinionated.
auscompgeek
you can scale the entirety of firefox with the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref
it affects chrome as well as content though.
fsociety[00]dat
b0at, thanks again. I don't like the other counterparts. Firefox ESR is the best.
auscompgeek
by default, firefox obeys system scaling settings
fsociety[00]dat
auscompgeek, value -1.0
What must I do?
1.0 ?
auscompgeek
fsociety[00]dat: -1.0 means to obey system scaling
anything else is a linear scale
fsociety[00]dat
ok
try and find
auscompgeek
anything >= 0, that is. (or is it just > 0?)
if you want 90% scale, obviously, you want 0.9

fsociety[00]dat
let's look
auscompgeek, does not work
auscompgeek
it works fine
everything scales.
fsociety[00]dat
auscompgeek, so sorry
I have wrote 0,9 instead of 0.9
so sorry and thanks
now it works like a charm
barq
12:25:32 <barq> When I open a new tab and search in Firefox I get this banner price comparison. How can I deactivate this? I've already checked all plugins and updates and didn't find anything suspicious.
auscompgeek
not firefox's fault; check your extensions, then check your computer, then check your network
barq
I don't have any odd extensions
How can I get rid of this
Isn't there a way to freshen up ff somehow and keep all settings
auscompgeek
there *is* such a button in about:support
barq
It was the avira add-on...
That's ridiculous
auscompgeek
HAHAHAHAHA that's brilliant
kids, this is why we don't enable the random crap antivirus software instalks into our browsers

have some trouble with firefox 40 in suse linux. haven't used it in a while, now it does not load certain pages. google for example. must have messed something up, but have no clue where to start looking. is there a debug tool that would tell me what it is doing?
RobotsOnDrugs
more likely a general network issue unless things are fine in another browser
if it's specific to firefox, check proxy settings
the developer tools (F12) may be useful
DexterF
RobotsOnDrugs: no proxy set
ok, that's superweird: when I enter google.de it won't load, when I click on the google.de entry in the new page overview it works.
kbrosnan
DexterF: does making a new profile work? firefox -P

hello, why cant firefox remember my last download location? it is so frustrating!
any one can help?
The0x539
boritek: in my experience it does it per site or something
boritek
The0x539: what does it mean "per site"? I am trying to download from my google drive (files that have been shared), so the site should be the same right? still it offers my older downloaded locations
The0x539
boritek: i'm not entirely sure

hey guys I just installed the new firefox update on my i386 debian jessie laptop and tried to navigate to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to untar libflashplayer.so there but for some reason mozilla isn't even there in the user libraries. Firefox will open and run but I need to find out where to put the flash plugin.

DexterF
kbrosnan: it does indeed. but how do I narrow down what causes it?
kbrosnan
DexterF: my guess would be prefs.js which is a file in the root of the profile
ElOcho
never mind...accidentally deleted the directory with bleach bit : /
DexterF
kbrosnan, RobotsOnDrugs, found the culprit, "Tab Utilities"

Hey friends, just switched back from Chromium and want to import my passwords. I know how to get them out of chromium, but still need something to import them again, without using some third party storage. Any recommendations?
ah, guess I'll try that password exporter thing
sure would be useful to have documentation about the format >_> *exports stuff to take a look*
:)
