hi, i'm having a strange problem with firefox
when i bring the cursor over my tabs, it automatically scrolls to the left
i can't access my newer tabs. it's frustrating, i don't know what the problem is
can anyone help please?
anyone?
christ there has to be SOMEONE who talks in this channel
aerth
Well, this is embarrassing.
thats what I see all the time when i open firefox after closing multiple windows and tabs. how do i shut down about:sessionrestore
browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash = false ?
browser.sessionstore.enabled = false ?
dorp
After a couple of months struggling with new versions and revisions of vanillia, addon-less, and plugin-less firefoxs, I admit defeat. For somereason firefox simply isn't useable on my machine. It has been a very long run, since version 1, but I've given up. Take care and goodluck!
Philias
Ok, the development of black artifacts has become really annoying
aerth
i set both to false, the browser.sessionstore.enabled didn't exist so i added a new boolean
omg firefox boots up fast now
Philias
Its still occurring even though there isnt a single private window open, so it cant be related to those
Well, apparently, theres an update, so let me see if it gets better with that
Ok, Ill check back in a few days or so
But its _really_ annoying
kbrosnan
you should also check for video card driver updates

Any idea why ad block is suddenly in the mainstream media all the time?
kbrosnan
because apple is a golden child

Gaffel
AdBlock is bad anyway. uBlock Origin is much lighter and does what it should do.
kbrosnan
they should be a bit more equal these days due to a fix on the Firefox side
AlexPortable
What is the color code for the background when you view an image?
ICantCook
Ah, I'll try uBlock
kbrosnan
i suspect it is #333
ICantCook
I'm also using the adblock browser on android. Seems to be a fork of Firefox
kbrosnan
maybe I had that reveresed #666 looks right to me
AlexPortable
its darker
should be darker than 333
ICantCook
But I meant in general, ad blocking has been around for over a decade, and it's worked well because so few people used it that the advertising model was unharmed
AlexPortable
#222 i hink
ICantCook
I'm wondering who to blame for this lol
kbrosnan
chrome://global/skin/media/imagedoc-darknoise.png
ICantCook: #222 according to sampling the png
AlexPortable
thx
kbrosnan
er not icant
sorry
really it is apple and the iphon9
AlexPortable
?
kbrosnan
why mainstream press is talking about adblocking

ICantCook
Wow. They're sacrificing the internet to attack Google
thanks for the link
kbrosnan
they don't see a world with the interent anymore. apps apps apps
mezod
hello, is there any way to speed up the process to verify a plugin? Or to know the estimated waiting time?
kbrosnan
mezod: #amo-editors on irc.mozilla.org would be the place to check

mezod
thanks
kbrosnan
mentioning the extension name and link to the url of the extension would be good
Alumin
is it possible to configure the Awesome Bar history/bookmarks search to always list bookmarks first?
e.g. I do want it to search the history, but if there are bookmarks in the results, I want those at the top
mezod
kbrosnan: thank you :)
linux_dream
hi guys. any thunderbird user?
I use thunderbird as an rss feeder
and exporting /importing rss folder doesn't work well
for instance importing my rss from another computer won't replace my current ones. it will just add up the new rss feeds that the other machine has. but it won't remove the ones that aren't on the first machine
so i need to create a bash script to sync properly my rss feeds
any help is welcome. I'm not sure which file I should replace
kbrosnan
Alumin: possibly by playing with places.frecency.* in about:config
mezod
kbrosnan: sorry for that, the official devs took over ;)
kbrosnan
np. i just don't have any insight into the review queues
Alumin
kbrosnan: cool, looks like if I jack up the unvisitedBookmark weight to something silly, the practical outcome will be "all bookmarks at the top"
llamapixel
Philias
Hm, nope, apparently still doesnt work right
(Keeping running without artifacts or YT videos not playing anymore and then, most of the time, crashing, that is)
Condoulo
It seems every time Firefox crashes I have to reset my sync password as Firefox refuses to remember the sync password after a crash.
xrogaan
why don't you remember it?
Condoulo
xrogaan: I remember my password. Firefox doesn't.
xrogaan
you said you had to reset it?
Condoulo
xrogaan: yeah, that's so it would reset the encryption so Firefox could actually remember it again.
Otherwise it just refuses to save it.
xrogaan
Sounds like a bug then.
Condoulo
Is there anywhere locally that Firefox stores crash reports?
auscompgeek
~/.mozilla/firefox/"Crash Reports"?
Condoulo
I don't have a "Crash Reports" folder.
oh wait, there it is. I thought it was profile specific. >.>
Pie_Mage
helloski
i'm having an issue with the 42 beta on linux
brosnan
Which is?
auscompgeek
inb4 gtk3
Cork
ya, most likely :)
Pie_Mage
lol
sorry, got distracted
yes
i'm running mate, which is a fork of gnome2, so my UI is themed with gtk2 themes
is there any way to enable a gtk2 compatability mode?
brosnan
No. It is a compile time flag for gtk version
Pie_Mage
ahhh makes sense
brosnan
One way to resolve the problem is to use a theme that uses the same colors for both gtk 2 and 3
Pie_Mage
I might look into that
i've had problems with a couple other programs here and there, so it'd solve a couple annoyances
ty brosnan!
brosnan
Or use gnome desktop >:-)

Hello
i'm having trouble with seamonkey's editor mode, suddenly it no longer accepts to edit .php files
if i rename the .php file to .html then it will open, but comment out the few lines of actual php....
brosnan
#seamonkey is on irc.mozilla.org
delt
ah, thanks
qq[IrcCity]
hello. are here experts willing to discuss the case made at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-international/2015JulSep/0173.html ? different experts have conflicting opinions whether should I report it as a bug straightly&
& and I now started a page at http://www.superstructure.info/browser/compromised/toxic-sniffing.html to explain the problem more graphically.
