hey huy
b0at
that's a good question. i don't know.
i've had one side's video fail to work and be able to text, but that was in early days. i haevn't tried it lately.
kbrosnan
frenda: text chat is a feature that is wanted for hello, not sure when/if it will be implmented
frenda
Ah, ok;

Hello. I am using ff on linux. Is there a way to exclude a certain protocol from being proxied in ff's connection settings?
(I don't want to proxy ftp)
b0at
i think that can be done with a .pac file that you point "automatic proxy configuration" to in the "connection settings" dialog
Zoomshorts
yeah I was thinking I could to it with environment variables and 'use system settings'
but I really don
*t want to set a proxy for everything
hmm does anyone know if that setting saves to a file?
maybe I could jut delete the ftp entry
b0at
worth a try. if that doesn't work, here's a document that glosses over and point to docs on how to make a PAC file: http://www-archive.mozilla.org/docs/netlib/pac.html
Zoomshorts
nvm I think its network.proxy.ftp in about:config :3

trekker118
hey any moz devs on?
i reworked an algorithm for something and figured I'd share
auscompgeek
you'll have better luck on irc.mozilla.org
trekker118
ok thx
i've been trying to fix some of the uninitialized errors gcc spits out
i put so much work into this one, it seemed worth sharing: http://pastebin.com/fgxc0HZc
(it actually looks a lot cleaner once patched)
in this case, so much cleaner http://pastebin.com/zSq09JeN (needs teh whole patch though to work)

I want to configure Firefox to navigate candidates in auto-complete popup menu with [Alt-n] and [Alt-p], What should I do?

kbrosnan: thanks
justJanne
I found a way to reliable crash Firefox with a segfault, what do I do now?
b0at
submit a report on bugzilla.mozilla.org, i guess
auscompgeek
justJanne: reproduce it with a mozilla build
justJanne
auscompgeek: I'll try to replicate it with a normal build them, currently using aurora. But the bug us related to a feature that is unchanged since 2001 or so, so should be reliably reproducable.
kbrosnan
aurora is more important than release
auscompgeek
^ as long as you have a crash report
kbrosnan
auscompgeek
chances are there might already be a bug filed, in which case you'd most likely see it on the crash report
RonRichie
hey there! somebody around?
does somebody know how I can allow debugger in Firefox to edit my loaded file? because I try to type something in the file I loaded it just simply won't as it doesn't have permission, when I do this in Chrome it asks me to allow to make changes, how can I make this work for Firefox as well?
???
Cork
RonRichie: the debugger can't modify the code yet
(or rather the ui can't do it)
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=771339

RonRichie
Cork ah, I see... thanks for heads up
colonolGron
hello
i am new to bugzilla and wondered how i can find a bug i just closed?
Cork
colonolGron
Cork, where is the button for that/how can i adapt that to another bugzilla?
Cork, I get "The ID user_activity is not a valid page identifier. "

Cork
colonolGron: "Reports" > "User Changes"
colonolGron
erm i mean: The requested format does not exist with a content type of html.
seems they disabled that?
Cork
or run an old version
colonolGron
what a shame
Cork
if you need help with bugzilla, as a project you should prob ask in there channel
#bugzilla @ irc.mozilla.org
this is the firefox support channel >_>
colonolGron
oh on another network, okay. thanks
Cork, oh sorry, i joined #mozilla ;)
Cork
there is only this channel on freenode
mozilla redirects there
colonolGron
yes, i am aware about it (now)
but didnt see that so i thought i was in mozilla and asked about bugzilla ;)
MegaManSec
Hi. So, I reported a bug to firefox awhile back, and I hooked up my old GPG key to my account for emails. I'm getting a bunch of emails about the bug I reported, but I can't see them, because I no longer use that key. Who should I contact to either get myself unsubscribed, or my GPG key changed for my account? Recovery process also emails with the gpg key.
It's bug #726483, just btw.

Question, did the latest nightly build for linux introduce client-side decorated titlebar under gnome and similar environments?
Megabyte
Hello, everyone
I'm having trouble with Firefox on Windows. I cannot load YouTube comments. Do you know why?
It's this very specific problem. Firefox loads videos as if there were no comments.
ljose
I using setTimeout(..., 1000) inside a webworker with Firefox 40.0.3, and sometimes the callback is invoked without delay
is this a known issue?
kbrosnan
justJanne: Firefox from mozilla switched to gtk3 in the last 6 weeks or so. if you get nightly from another place they would need change their build flags which might have happened
Megabyte: ghostery or similar tracking blocking extension is often an issue for comments
justJanne
I got it from the official mozilla builds, only updated now,
and now it does not work on my system anymore cause it just draws the window in a different place than the titlebar, and I can't click some parts of the window anymore, etc
Megabyte
justJanne, ghostery?
justJanne
eh, you meant to ping kbrosnan
kbrosnan
MegaManSec: #bmo on irc.mozilla.org can help reset an account. though I vaguely know what the changes are, bouncing on and off the gtk3 bug
MegaManSec: see the end of the history of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_activity.cgi?id=627699
Megabyte
kbrosnan, ghostery?
kbrosnan
a privacy extension
do you use extensions? if so then getting the listing from about:support or help > troubleshooting info would be useful
use http://pastebin.mozilla.org if you have a long list
Megabyte
kbrosnan, I tried to use one, in fact
priv8
but it doesn't work anymore
MegaManSec
thanks kbrosnan

When I start up my desktop and the audio is initialized then my speakers recieve a big spike. How do I stop this? If I mute the master volume control i alsa-mixer then the spikes don't appear at all even when I turn the audio back on.
Wrong channel, sorry.
`St0ner
how do you fix the firefox black screen problem? everything is black and glitchy including the menu bar, tab bar, bookmarks toolbar, addon bar at the bottom, everything. and now that the "options" menu is a browser tab instead of a separate options window, i cant see my options but pretty sure hw acceleration is off
b0at
you could try safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-safe-mode that ensures hw accel is off
`St0ner
ok, and how does that help me fix normal mode?
Gaffel
How on earth do you enable H.264 hardware accelerated decoding for Intel graphics in Firefox? I don't want to use 20-30% CPU on all four cores when I watch videos on for example YouTube.
I have installed gstreamer, gstreamer-vaapi and plugins-bad.
justJanne
Gaffel: are you sure you use H.264 on youtube?
YouTube tries to default to WebM, which has no hardware decoder
son1dow
it seems my firefox suddenly stopped activating certain kinds of scripts
anybody have any idea why?
some navigation for websites isn't working for that reason
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/g-series/g510/#tab-reviews can't choose any other tab here for example
schoppenhauer
hi. is it possible to let firefox use KDE's native notification boxes (libnotify, I guess) rather than posting its own?
son1dow
nevermind, I solved my issue
