Why is firefox ignoring @media queries below 560px?
I've got @media queries set up for max-width:300px and max-width:480px and both are being ignored, but 560px is being rendered
actual browser width is 380 pixels
huh, somehow my install wound up on betas, maybe that's why
satdav|bnc
SimbaLion, can I ask what os you are using
SimbaLion
I just updated to 41.b06, from 41.b05, and it rendered properly for a moment and then broke itself
satdav
kbrosnan, ^
SimbaLion
satdav, windows 10
Is there a stable version of the developer build? The current one says 42.a02
satdav
brosnan, ^ hey you about
SimbaLion
oh nvm, I thought developer version was aimed at web developers, I didn't know it was specifically unstable versions lol
satdav
SimbaLion, I use the nightly my self but I do support for Mozilla I also use firefox stable
SimbaLion
well I just uninstalled and am trying to find a download link for 64bit stable only, because I build websites for a living I need the browser to render properly.. I'm not interested in beta features.

satdav

Hi
kikoo__
Firefox used to have a bar for favorited links, but it seems to have been disabled with updates at some point..
how do I get it back? :X
password2
Hi have to say , the little mute button thats on each tab that plays music is an awesome feature
Cork
kikoo__: right click the toolbar and check the bookmark toolbar
kikoo__: alternatively hit alt then view > toolbars > bookmark toolbar
kikoo__

Cork

Cork

mibbit even used to default to connecting to moznet

Connect: "Mozilla [webirc]"

YuGiOhJCJ
hello, is there a way to force Firefox to always select the default "Save File" option instead of "Open with..." for any files (.txz, .pdf, ...) I want to download? I found the "mimeTypes.rdf" file but instead of changing specifically for a type, I would like to do it globally. Any idea how to do that?
denysonique
How do I enable e10s in Firefox 41.0b6?
Cork
denysonique: about:config?filter=browser.tabs.remote
denysonique: though note that you should use nightly if you want to test e10s
it isn't meant to be used outside of nightly yet

denysonique
Cork: browser.tabs.remote.autostart I have set to true
yet I only see one Firefox process
Cork
i'm not sure if e10s is accessable at all in none nightly builds
i have a vague memory of them disabling it at build time since a few months back (like feb or so)
denysonique
That would sound like it.
Installing nightly.
Thanks Cork!
noexcept
I probbly need to tidy up a bit soon, but for now I made an extra 10GB room
lets see if it works like this
wrong window sry
Cork
heh
denysonique
Cork: After installing nightly I only see up to 2 processes, 1. firefox-trunk and 2. web
actually that is how it is supposed to work
I thought it would be process per ta
per tab
Cork
denysonique: they are planing to use more processes in the future
but for the moment it's "enough moving parts" :D
varaindemian
why so much usage of cpu? http://prntscr.com/8bqqzn

varaindemian: you just answered your own question

Cyrax
Hi all. I have a small tiny issue (I hope) .. I'm trying to install a xpi file into a extension for firefox called Cryptocat, but Firefox blocks it.. How do i get rid of the "blocking" so I can install it?
Anyone know? :)
kbrosnan
Cyrax: try file > open

Any idea, what else I could do to help narrow down #1088646?
kbrosnan
looks like the cause is known, not much short of finding a patch
Elrond
kbrosnan - well, so just wait and hope?

any examples of working with bookmarks programmatically ?
MikeRL
I'm getting crashes to the point I cannot start in safe mode on Firefox on my Linux box. I have some suspicions to as what is causing this. Think a recent package upgrade caused issues.
Think I found the issue.
You see, I use several methods to get Flash working on Linux. One is a pepper flash wrapper. Another is Pipelight Normally, they have no issues. Today, one of them decided to cause crashes like no tomorrow.
I removed them and everything works again. But I'm going to contact whomever built the recent update and let them know it's a dud.
It's the fresh player plugin.
codebam
anyone know why firefox would not load webpages until the mouse is shaken around? this is on windows xp
kbrosnan
stelt: inside Firefox? https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Code_snippets/Bookmarks
codebam: have heard of reports of that with people with high dpi mouses and some sort of bad interaction with Flash
MikeRL: see a couple recent reports for pipelight, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1200003 Which is devEdition only and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193855
MikeRL
kbrosnan, I traced it down. It was freshplayerplugin from a Webupd8 PPA, not Pipelight.
I have just written up an email explaining the crashing and sent it to the website owner, who also does the PPAs.
Basically I warned him to expect crashing if he tries it out.
That way, if he checks his mail, he will have a heads up and not need to investigate as much.

kbrosnan, plan was to use bookmarks as a config tool for a serverside application (but as the places.sqlite is for much more than bookmarks and needs high performance it might be a bad idea to replace it with a symlink pointing to the actual file at the webserver). Any suggestions? Calling for export/backup of bookmarks and work on that file might be an idea (though an extra needed user action that might be forgotten). Let me hear yo
kbrosnan
there is the bookmarksbackup folder that is written once a day in json
Cyrax
kbrosnan: doing file > open doesn't help .. the file works fine and its suppose to be a .xpi file.. And i haven't touched anything on the file, its just that firefox blocks it from dragging the xpi file into where the cryptocat extension is open
b0at
Cyrax: does it show an error message?
Cyrax
No error.. it only pops up a message that firefox has blocked the xpi file
b0at
with no buttons to allow it?
Cyrax
No buttons at all
