Hello everyone, I would like to understand why I can't access to Google Calendar (i'm using Firefox Developer Edition up to date and i got a friend who doesn't got this trouble) I already tried to set the proxy settings to "No Proxy" but it doesn't make anything... Anyone has an idea ?
Does anyone know why i can't fix "sec_error_unknown_issuer" for google agenda ? I already deleted cert8 as suggested in FAQ and still got trouble..

hey, is there a reason why so many pages lately don't run fine under firefox?
like bank sites or similar entities
git
example?
mefistofeles
git: tried two sites today, my bank site and another one from a telecommunications
for example
git: http://servicioalcliente.etb.com.co/ click on "consulta tu factura" and "pago express"
all I get is a blank tab, it should be something...
(yeah, I know it's probably the site's fault, but just wondering why it works in chromium/chrome)
git
huh
that's weird
mefistofeles
git: does the same happen to you?
git
yeah
mefistofeles
yeah :S
git

mefistofeles
git: thanks, didn't know about that one
git
it looks like they're using chrome frame
mefistofeles
probably
git
doubt that's related though
it's trying to send you to http://servicioalcliente.etb.com.co/consulta_express.aspx i think
mefistofeles
git: yes
git
href="javascript:location.replace('consulta_express.aspx?con=5');"
it's that bit causing problems. it works if you do
href="javascript:location.replace('http://servicioalcliente.etb.com.co/consulta_express.aspx?con=5');"

I can't view videos on some sites.

whats the difference between aurora and nightly? does nightly include the features from developer or no?
Peng
codebam: Nightly is the next version of Firefox.
svetlana
Aurora is beta. Nightly is bleeding edge (less stable than beta).
Peng
codebam: If release is version 74, beta is version 75, aurora is version 76, and nightly is version 77. (That's an example. The version numbers aren't that high yet.)
svetlana
There are Aurora and Nightly releases for both the developer edition and the non-developer edition, I think.
Peng
Oh?
I don't know the answer to the other half of the question.
svetlana
I didn't know aurora and beta were different. I thought they were the same.
codebam
Peng, svetlana: thank you :) It doesnt really matter if it includes the dev tools. I was just wondering.
anyone mind checking out the arch pkgbuild for nightly? it's giving me a 404 for the download
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/firefox-nightly
svetlana
What is the error? The URL https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ is fine.
codebam
nevermind. I was using an outdated pkgbuild. sorry
firefox nightly is so nice :)
Peng
except when it has bugs :P
xangua
But they are the newest bugs

hi, i have firefox set to "never check for updates" (and have for several weeks). i just got a notification that firefox will auto-update the next time it restarts. why might this be?
(is there some security fix that bypasses the normal procedure for updates?)
(unrelated, why does my firefox installation directory contain an empty git repository?)
curvv
hi how can i enable e10/multiprocess in firefox developer edition?
it has been disabled because of bug 1115956
is there a workaround
i'm trying to find info on this bug... not sure where can't find it
ok found the bug
resolved but still disabled.. i do have nightly as far as i know
ok fixed by setting `browser.tabs.remote.disabled-for-a11y` to false
samfreenode
Does anyone else here use treestyletab for Firefox?
curvv
also set `xpinstall.signatures.required` to false if you're using firebug next with latest ff dev

is there a component within Firefox that would allow me to ping back to a central server and get files or data out of it?
anyone?
mathu
where on my linux box could i find a firefox icon saved
Reventlov
c0fe_machine: « ping back » ?
mathu: /usr/lib/firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/
or /usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/firefox.png
mathu
Reventlov: awesome, thank oyu!
i wonder why my find command didn't find that firefox.png

hello all
can someone tell why OTMC is using more resources when my understanding is that it should use less?
mojtaba
Hi, I have recently installed duplicate contact remover module and after removing it, Thunderbirth just freezes when I launch it. Does anybody know what should I do?
OS = Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, Thunderbird = 31.8.0
Any help is highly appreciated.
curvv
mojtaba: does it start in safe mode?
mojtaba
curvv: How should I start it in safe mode from command line?
curvv
thunderbird -safe-mode
mojtaba
curvv: It has two options, disable all ad-ons, and reset toolbars and controls.
curvv: which one should I select?
curvv
disable addons
if it starts remove all addons one by one and start normally to see which is causing the issue
mojtaba
curvv: Yes, it is not freezing now. So what should I do to fix the problem?
curvv: It was working fine and recently after installing an addon to remove duplicate contacts, it started freezing. Although I have removed that add-on, it is still freezing.
curvv: How can I make sure that add-on is totally removed?
curvv
mojtaba: you can try removing all references to it in .thunderbird/yourprofile/extensions/
you're going to have to dig a little i'm no expert with this
mojtaba
curvv: thank you very much for your help
curvv
no problem
mojtaba: fixed?
mojtaba
curvv: I guess I found why it is freezing
curvv: but still have problem with it
curvv
is it not the addon causing it then?
the addon should not be causing it if you removed its directory from ~/.thunderbird/profile/extensions/
unless it's a global extension

Reventlov: what i am looking to do is have firefox become a digital signage application itself
Reventlov: what i want is the application to ping back to a server, saying its online and give the identification information about it, so the user who's going to claim it as theirs can through a web interface
Reventlov
whatttt
what does « ping back » mean ?
you mean, just execute something when firefox is on, to identify the firefox ?
c0fe_machine
Reventlov: Thin Client boots up and sends message with unique ID information to a group of "central servers"
Tha'ts what I want to do is that somehow built into firefox in some way already or is that something i would have to do from scratch
