b0at: awesome! i was wondering if it was something like that but couldn't find anything. thank you!
hello how can I force firefox to accept https on expired certificates or similar? there is not the option to accept them anymore
yt videos only in 360p resolution. I am using arch and firefox
varaindemian: do you have gstreamer and all the gst-plugins-* packages installed? that seems to work for me on arch. the ones with version 1.x https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=&q=gst-plugins-&maintainer=&flagged=
and you can go to about:buildconfig in firefox to verify it was built with gstreamer 1.0 which means the 1.x packages are the right ones and of course https://www.youtube.com/html5 to quickly see what should work
b0at: it supports only HTMLVideoElement and WebM VP8 I ll install those packages
you may have to toggle to "true" "media.mediasource.enabled" in about:config
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=&q=gst-plugins-&maintainer=&flagged= b0at: you mean all of those for x86_64 (ugly, good, base-libs, base and bad) ?
probably. or it may be enough just to install a libav or ffmped plugin. but i just installed them all. which i guess is part of one of those packages. i'm not sure.
mse is not enabled on linux atm
b0at: well, installed them all and nothing changed. Do I need to restart?
you may need to restart firefox and set the media.mediasource.enabled to true (for me, gstreamer.enabled was already true)
b0at: enableing media.mediasource.webm solved it
How often are firefox releases generally made? I've tried to look on wikipedia's release history page, but it's pretty busy and a bit confusing Is it arbitrary or does it follow a schedule?
heys I wonder if theres a plugin that replaces youtube players with preview pictures?
Can I get help with a firefox extension here? If not where can I go? Trying to port a Chrome extension.
Afteraffekt: irc.mozella.org (mispelled) may be better place dunno if its still around, saw it at some site and havent tried
#extdev on irc.mozilla.org
it does, I've got a social login thing on my blog that lets me login using google, and when I connect thru ssl it disables the link, I have to click a thing in firefox and select 'disable protection for now' to make the link work "Firefox is blocking content on this page." "some unencrypted elements on this website have been blocked." do I have to live with this?
the warning won't go away because it's a bad idea to mix secure and insecure resources. this is the least annoying of firefox's last few security changes. it's possible that you could just include the other resources as like src="//google.com/..." to match your page's http/https scheme, also. that's a handy trick.
Firefox is currently using 400% CPU usage and it isn't going down. Before I restart the browser, is there some about: page I could open to see why it's using so much?
not for cpu usage that i know of (about:about lists them), but about:memory might give a clue
Ah. Well, I captured a memory dump before restarting in case anybody cares and/or can do anything with it https://0x0.st/sFX.gz
haasn: irc.mozella.org may be better server for that
thufir: the standard is type="text", and you should consult the html spec's definition of "character data" to see which characters are disallowed i think that's what it's called
nice! wow, that is a really nice document, exactly what I need
Hi, my browser.search.defaultenginename sometimes changes, last time it was "Bing", I reset to Google, this time it is Amazon, I need to reset to Google again. How could change that, some site scripts?
options -> search, default search engine, i guess
hey yo http://goodrandom.wiki/random/unusual doesn't redirect me on firefox only on chrome what do? must be some settings issue

Hi, is there a way to have to different profiles open at the same time in Firefox (using Fedora)? I have created the profiles, but I seem to only be able to use one at a time. Got it... firefox -no-remote -P "[profile_name]". Thanks anyways.
b0at: So, I got the symptom of requiring Flash player all of a sudden for a video I was already watching without it again, but Fx did not yet crash b0at: So, is there something I should do now? Should I tag the crash report with something if it does?
a plugin placeholder just popped up? weird i guess so. this is well beyond me.
Yeah. If I remember correctly, the video stops playing, the site reloads and I get that Flash placeholder (Flash is disabled) But I didnt pay attention in that moment this time, I only noticed it when I switched back to it Reloading the video made it go away (I think this didnt really work often before)
Is it possible to disable the built-in pdf reader completely?
specing: go to about:config?filter=pdfjs.disabled and toggle it to true
because one site seemed to force it even though I have open in external viewer as default b0at: yay b0at: nope, still opened...
i just get it downloading. maybe it's embedding a viewer on the page.
