would be nice if firefox had a couple official themes, like a light (default) and dark, instead of just the plain default.

hi
after the updating to 40 the top of the window isnt transparent
andy_jp
Hey everyone.
I think OMTC has caused some issues for me in 40.
The window is almost completely black. I've tried restarting in safe mode, and even disabling hardware acceleration with mozilla.cfg, but I think it should be disabled in safe mode anyway?
Works fine with X.Org, but not Xvesa.
Same in daily.
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas?
Nightly, I mean - not daily.

Kraps: i haven't tried it but see this: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&p=14275379

my reader addon suddenly isn't initializing, its stuck at "Loading", same 'sometimes' happens with dropdown menus with youtube. What could be causing this ? This seems like a known issue as it was a fresh install

The current bbc news home page breaks FireFox! Is it just me?
FF 39.0.3 on Fedora 22 (x64)
The front page will change shortly, so probably not valid to report it on a website

Can I force crash submitting without user interaction?

Anyone know when (if) firefox will support DRM HTML5? So I can watch netflix on linux without pipelight?
wCPO
vooze: It already supported on Windows, 2 sec.. maybe I can find a bug report for linux
vooze
wCPO: :/ thank you. I was hoping Firefox would be as fast on Linux.. Since both firefox and Linux is open source.

Can I ask about the MDN (developer network) here? Is there some decided way to add Edge to an article's compatibility table? Eg adding Edge in it's own column beside IE, or changing IE to "IE / Edge" or simply keeping IE but adding "Edge" as the version.
wCPO
vooze: There a bug report to keep track of EME https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1015800

hey there.. i have a problem with a mp4 video file - it works on firefox on windows - but not on osx. it works on all browser, except firefox. it has been encoded using libavtools - i asked for support there, but the told me it might be a firefox problem - here is the file: http://stadt.archivmedien.de/public/9245cfc07ada9d09dd3a0d74b51b5489/9245c
fc07ada9d09dd3a0d74b51b5489_clone.mp4
any ideas? i am using osx firefox v 39.0.3 - i tried 41.0.x (dev) too
wCPO
john-dev: Does http://youtube.com/html5 show h264?
john-dev
sure
saba
Ah, I see now that the current tables will be replaced with a new system
john-dev
the file's soruce is MXF, if i convert the same video with the same command from a mov instead of a mxl file - it works like a charm
if i convert it using youtube. it's working too
wCPO
john-dev: Could be the h264 driver Firefox OSX use..
john-dev
wCPO: even, if all other hs64 videos are working just fine?
wCPO
vooze: Can't find much about it.. I think adobe maybe is blocking for Linux support, not sure..
john-dev: It could be something in the implementing..
The link don't work btw.
john-dev
it's working fine here :-/
are you on osx w. firefox? :P
wCPO
john-dev: It in two parts, and when I combine it.. I just get a "Entschuldigung - das angeforderte Dokument wurde nicht gefunden."

john-dev
then there must be a typo, let me shorten it
http://bit.ly/1Kj5fPo
vooze
wCPO: ah okay, thank you anyway :)
wCPO: Have you heard anything about maybe a timeframe?
wCPO
vooze: I'm just a regular Firefox user.. :)
vooze
wCPO: Ah okay :D
MoPac
Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone here could help with an initial read on what might be going on with this bug? https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193855 . Since yesterdy's update, I essentially can't use Firefox, and it's one of my main all-day tools... I can put together a help forum post, but I'm hoping to get a bit more insight
wCPO
john-dev: Hmm , my Linux firefox don't even havde h264 support
MoPac
I'm also hoping I might re-title it and file it in the appropriate section rather than "untriaged". It appears to be something going wrong with thread cretion / thread management
wCPO
MoPac: I also have some hangs with Firefox Nightly sometimes, could be related..
MoPac
wCPO: Well, for me this is something that I'm pretty sure appeared with the 40.0 update
john-dev
wCPO: to be honest, we don't develop with linux support yet - windows ans osx is our primary target
vooze
Hi, i'm in about:support and I see there is no h264 decoding support for my hardware (also running Linux) Can i force this somehow? I have all the Gstreamer plugins etc.
Is this just because the hardware is too new, or just because its Linux?
jeffree
wCPO: I am using firefox 40 on linux and it supports H.264
vooze
jeffree: what GPU do you have?
jeffree: also, is that in about:support on just on youtube.com/html5?
jeffree
vooze: it was from html5test.com
vooze
jeffree: I have that too, its just not hardware accelerated I think. Could you check about:support?
jeffree
vooze: but about:support says H.264 hardware decoding: false
vooze
jeffree: okay, Sounds like its maybe just Linux :/

The current bbc news home page breaks FireFox! Is it just me?

Kills FF stone dead. Just hangs
InspectorCluseau
MarkRS, Try BBC in FF safe mode?
MoPac
MarkRS: Do any other pages do this?
MarkRS
Not that I've found MoPac. Just trying safe mode
auscompgeek
btw Firefox 40 has been released
and 39.0.5 before that, so you're using a Firefox version with a 0-day bug...
MarkRS
it's what's in the Fedra repository
Fedora
wCPO
vooze: media.gstreamer.enabled in about:config maybwe
MoPac
MarkRS: I've started having constant total crashes on Linux, which I believe just started with 40.0 rather than 39.0.5, though there wasn't much of a gap, was there? Probably unrelated, but just in case, it's https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193855
(also x64)
wCPO
jeffree: I use Firefox nightly, shouldn't OpenH264 provide H264 support?
MarkRS
Yes, I saw you mention that earlier MoPac. I've done quite a bit with it today and had no (more than usual) problem except on this BBC page
how do I start safe mode?
jeffree
wCPO: I don't know. I don't use nightly.
MarkRS
it's not just a private window, is it?
wCPO
MarkRS: firefox -safe-mode ?
InspectorCluseau
MarkRS, Shift key on startup
MoPac
MarkRS: Ah, okay, probably nothing then. Maybe there's a maximum size of explosion that the browser can handle cleanly, and the issue will resolve when there is a new top global news story
wCPO
jeffree: Do you use gstreamer for h264 playback?
MarkRS
MoPac: Ha! ;)
