Especially cause I try to use Linux.
I do use Pipelight and Freshplayer, though.
So, I can either use a wrapper around Pepper flash from a Chrome install, or emulated Windows flash.
kbrosnan
at first they rolled out h264 support only which Firefox could not ues fo a long time
Makere
youtube shows the address bar for me when html5 and fullscreen
MikeRL
Cause Adobe ignores Linux.
kbrosnan
then they added webm (vp9) which firefox addes support
Makere
can I switch back to flash
kbrosnan
then they dropped the quality on videos that are not played through eme
MikeRL
What do you mean? How they keep changing their mind?
FFS Google Earth didn't even get updated for Linux.
kbrosnan
they implement features which keep chrome ahead in quality of playing back youtube

MikeRL
Play Music Manager doesn't work. Nor do we have Drive.
People tell me to stop complaining, but I sometimes try to wean myself off Google. They're starting to remind me of MS with IE6 and earlier.
Not as bad with standards, yet anyhow.
What are you talking about with quality and EME?
Anticompetitive. Plus, I kind of think Chrome is a data borg.
Makere
I don't like chrome
MikeRL
I use Greasemonkey to make Youtube less of a disaster.
Forces HTML5.
Makere
I don't like firefox suggested tiles neither
MikeRL
People tell me, why don't you use it? I tell them it's a government data borg.
It's getting easier to disable that, though.
Makere
well it just has less features than firefox
MikeRL
Least with 39.
Makere
even though it's faster
MikeRL
Yeah it's noobed down.
I don't exactly like Webkit or Blink, either. All the browsers based off those engines feel the same.
Edge is still sucky, isn't it?
Makere
one of the deal breakers is no proxy on it
I mean it uses IE proxy settings
MikeRL
What does it do on Linux, then?
Makere
I don't know lol
uses your system proxy?
maybe it reads http_proxy variable
MikeRL
Yeah it reads Linux's settings.
Chrome is a POS, anyhow.
kbrosnan
Makere: you should be able to right click on the toolbar and choose hide toolbars
Makere
kbrosnan: it's a bug in LessChrome HD
that autohides the addressbar
but for some reason it shows up in youtube fullscreen
kbrosnan
oh yeah that predates html fullscreen
Makere
I really like the add-on
work around is to hit F11 before putting video fullscreen
MikeRL
Hmm. I seem to be able to view 1080p videos in Firefox without Flash with Viewtube.
What did they do to mess up YouTube on Firefox?
Is this addon getting around their crap or something?
XXCoder
the bookmarks scroll happened again
and yep what I guessed is likely to be true
its caused by button thinking it has mouse over it when it isnt
I stopped scroll by just mouse over that button again and leave

kbrosnan
shudon: what os?
shudon
kbrosnan: Ubuntu 14.04
kbrosnan
did some poking on the bug might see some action
would be good to know if this happens on windows or osx
shudon
kbrosnan: thanks for checking it out

firefox 38.01 with java 1.8.0_45 about:plugins shows java but verifying java from java.com throws this error: JVMLauncher.afterStart(): starting JVM process watcher java.lang.InterruptedException
any ideas?
it seemed that firefox worked with 1.8.0_40
updating it to 45 broke firefox
This is on centos 7.1

Any way to live edit html in firefox (or nightly) as done with codepen or jsfiddle?
Looking for a guide.
I know can change elements with the inspector, but it's kind of fiddly when just wanting to code.
