when opening the event listener in the HTML Pane is there a way to copy the listener URI?
even I press the pause button and jump into debugger the left column of the debugger shows the file names but doesn't allow me to copy it
kbrosnan
#devtools on irc.mozilla.org might know
anddam
I see thanks, I have to setup the connection
is mozilla.org by any chance oftc?
ah nvm, the debugger had "copy url"
kbrosnan
oftc?
anddam
ah no, just Firefox Developer Edition has the copy url, maybe it's got an updated dev tools
kbrosnan: oftc.net
the "other" network
kbrosnan
no mozilla is an independent irc network
anddam
yep, just figured
Roey
hi
where is history stored? places.sqlite? (same place as tabs?)
I want to restore history only
brosnan
Roey: yes places. sqlite

theos
hi
how to stop redirects? i use adblock plus but it doesnt stop redirects.
or how do i redirect to the previous page that directed it
b0at
requestpolicy used to do that
maybe the rebooted version does it. policeman doesn't.
maybe network.http.prompt-temp-redirect would block 302 redirects, not sure. probably not 301s, though, if it only blocks temporary ones.
theos
some websites have <script> to counter adblock etc. adblock plus devs couldnt come up with a solution to that yet. but i found out about NoRedirect which is works fine for stopping redirection. i was thinking if it could be modified to redirect to the previous page instead of showing a redirection msg.

Roey
brosnan: hey thanks
b0at, brosnan: and if I copy over a backup places.sqlite, tdoes that also copy tab & tab groups? I just want to copy over the history
auscompgeek
Roey: tabs aren't stored in places.sqlite
that's what sessionstore.json is for
Roey
ahhhhhh
ok wonderful!
thanks.

Is there any way to get this finished?
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=670002
theos
is there a way to not download a <script> tag in a page?
or any code that we want
so my browser only loads the code that i want of every page
kbrosnan
noscript
theos
kbrosnan does noscript block scripts from inside the .html page?
anddam
theos: not individually IIRC
theos
:<
anddam
theos: I'm not sure there's a way to "not download" part of the code
but after you downloaded it you can have it modified (or deleted) with a greasemonkey script
theos
anddam is there a way to "not execute" part of the code?
anddam
though I don't know if that applies to script elements as well
"a way" there is for sure, but it depends on what you are thinking of
theos
i am sure just replacing the <script> tag from the code will render the code useless
anddam
i.e. I can think of a reverse proxy server between your browser and the server, that will edit anything you want
but you maybe were referring to an in-browser only solution
theos
yes^^
anddam
I'm not knowledgeable enough on that
but I'm sure that the web is your friend
theos
i just dont want websites to redirect me to ads, just because i use adblock plus

unicodesnowman
firefox for android sucks for asmr
anddam
idk adblock and idk how the sites redirect you
theos
ok
i should learn js and firefox extension making
naice! noscript did the trick. thanks kbrosnan anddam

Newk
hi, you might have gotten this question before.. after updating to firefox 39 it seems like html5 audioplayers like bandcamp and soundcloud are not working anymore.. any way to fix this?
(on ubuntu here)
mefistofeles
Newk: works here (39.0 in archinux)
archlinux*
Newk
okay
just started in safemode thought it still didnt work but some songs on soundcloud do work... codec problems?
mefistofeles
maybe, no idea tbh
Newk
on bandcamp its consistently not working
mefistofeles
Newk: working here
Newk
on youtube in html5 mode i get no sound with moving video.. at least it moves the player... so its definitly an audio problem in html5
Makere
Newk: youtube splits audio and video into 2 streams
and plays both simultaneously
Newk
yes i figured... this is strange:
this one plays: https://soundcloud.com/zedsdead/zeds-dead-twin-shadow-lost-you-feat-dangelo-lacy
and this one doesnt: https://soundcloud.com/grandtheft/summer-diplo-grandtheft-remix
(those where featured up front... didnt select those because i like m)
Makere
well you're better off from not listening to that sh*t
;P
played just fine for me
Newk
yeah i might be an exeption... met someone in another chat that is on fedora with the same problem... he states that nothing is wrong in chrome but in firefox it is
i dont want to use chrome
Makere
Newk: I think you might need some gstreamer codecs
http://askubuntu.com/questions/389437/how-do-i-get-html5-h-264-video-working-on-firefox
Newk
strange that this happens to me now while in that post its talking about FF26
maybe something deactivated those gstreamer packages.. i will try that before reinstalling firefox
well seems thos packages are installed.. i only see that i could install another package that would conflict with gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3... called gstreamer0.10-fluendo-plugins-mp3-partner
if i would install that it would replace it
(Action) gives up and hopes reinstalling firefox would solve it
haasn
Will Firefox ever include binary blobs that spy on me using my microphone?
Newk: If you consider this acceptable, you can also use a third party video player like mpv to play back youtube videos, including HD/60fps content. There are addons to integrate mpv into Firefox, either as a plugin (via mozplugger) or as a script to just open it in an extra window automatically
(This solution comes with the advantage of mpv being much higher quality than Firefox's video player)
Newk
i have difficulties with not having a functional bandcamp / soundcloud
reinstalling the firefox package didnt solve it
haasn
(mpv supports bandcamp and soundcloud as well)
Newk
ah
mpv isnt listed in firefox plugins or ubuntu repo
i did install mozplugger..no idea what to do next
i guess i have an older ubuntu repo
