git
pencilandpaper: there's a good chance your phone can already do that
pencilandpaper
i use a pay-as-you-go phone that doesnt even have the net.
or a camera on it.
git
well then maybe yours doesn't :P
pencilandpaper
i am sure that the phone conversations are recorded though.
:)
git
that gives me an idea though...
EFF has these stickers that go over your webcam, i wonder how hard it would be to make a device similar to that, but instead of blocking cameras it blocks mics and feeds it with whitenoise
SlashLife
git: Would be sufficient if the mic-in would disable an integrated microphone (by hardware-wise breaking power or the data connection) and having a dummy plug with a flat 2-3mm thick plate on the outside to enable you to pull it out again.
Of course at that point you could really just create a small hardware switch to turn off both camera and microphone.
(As a vendor.)
git
yeah, but that is something that an oem would have to do
pencilandpaper
i dont know git , thats a good idea though.
i need to place something over my internal camera. i just dont have any tape right now.

git
i try to protect my privacy... but then i do stupid things like buying an Android Wear watch, and a MacBook
pencilandpaper
LOL git .

Why is installing the Sync Server so cumbersome? It would be nice if it was nicely packaged.

HOw to disable the web security in firefox
xangua
what web security are you talking about¿
sunny__
like for ggole chrome we write google-chrome --disable-web-security in ubuntu terminal
any help
ome
sunny__: Why do you need it?
sunny__
ome simply i hit request http to https from apache server for now i am not using this instead of apache server i am using python server
ome
I am not sure what you're doing there but setup https with your python server.
I know setting up SSL can't be cumbersome but that is sadly your best option.
Disabling security while developing can end you up with some pretty broken sottware.

can someone help me
i was googleing somthing clicked on it, and got a popup
tried closing the popup and it opened a ton more and crashed firefox
killed the firefox process
reopened firefox and it restored the session when i don't have that set, and crashes again
and repeated the above a few times
how can i get it to open without trying to restore the old links

randomdue: open the firefox profile folder and rename sessionstore.js to sessionstore.broken
and start firefox
randomdue

randomdue
duck duck go is ok
but nothing really beats google imo
Cork
randomdue: ya, you haven't submitted the crash reports
would have been interesting checking why it crashed
fleshtheworld: if you want to use the google database checkout startpage.com
randomdue
it reminded me of a popup hell i havent seen since the early 2000's
Cork

randomdue: well that isn't what i care about
randomdue
i can post the link to the site that cause issues if you want
Cork

Well then here goes my question. What is the meaning of a Priveleged App, in Dev Edition of Firefox?
Cork
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Marketplace/Options/Packaged_apps#Privileged_app
basically websites that run locally with additional permissions (it is mainly used for firefox os)
lazarus477
I see
My first primary use for Dev Ed is for creating static websites, not apps.
I wish to make use of the IDE as a coding environment. Am I on the wrong track?
I usually use VIM but the use of an IDE integrated with the browser is quite useful.
The concept of creating projects geared towards an app looks a bit off for simple static web page creation. Must I really create an app in order to make use of the IDE?
I did one project where I choose the Hello World app template but what I used it for was just to create a static page.
Is there some better way of getting code into the IDE to be worked on besides creating a new app project?
Can the IDE of Dev Edition be used for non app related projects, static page creation and inspection?
