Don't ever ignore changelogs. With Windows 10 MS has decided to ignore them. I don't know what the heck even changed with the latest 500MB monster update. At least my Linux install uses sanity with updates.
I'm sure the backdoors were just rewritten again.
Oops.
Typing "slash sarcasm" confuses my IRC client.
kbrosnan
with firefox there will always be the source

kbrosnan
waressearcher2: set general.useragent.override in about:config
that is an option or use an extension

can someone try that link http://digitalaudioconcepts.com/vanessa/hobbies/minetest/worldmaps/ to check if your firefox can handle that big pictures ?
grammar_nazi
waressearcher2: firefox can handle it. It's more of a question of how long it takes to load given your connection.
waressearcher2
grammar_nazi: but you haven't opened the link do you ?
grammar_nazi
i did

do you guys answer questions about firefox here or atre you just advertising where to download it?
waressearcher2
what he just asked ?

I've been idling in here for a while, and mostly it's just been joins and parts, but recently people have been a bit more active, and people have been fairly helpful.
Although it looks like mozilla has their own IRC server irc.mozilla.org:6697 that's probably has more active support: https://wiki.mozilla.org/IRC
crschmidt
Hi; I work for YouTube. We've been trackign down an issue for the past two weeks with Firefox users having problems with the page freezing shortly after it loads; we think we know what change caused it. I'm not sure if this has come up here, or if Firefox has an open bug tracking this.
grammar_nazi
crschmidt: I'm just a user and am not affiliated with Mozilla, but have you searched bugzilla?
crschmidt
grammar_nazi: I did search, and didn't find anything obviously matching; I know it came up in the Firefox subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/3lbd5b/a_few_days_ago_firefox_began_freezing_everytime_i/) so I wasn't sure if a bug had gotten opened.
brosnan
crschmidt: OK with a pm?
crschmidt
Absolutely.
waressearcher2
crschmidt: are you working for google ?
or just youtube ?
they at google know what IRC is ?
LiENUS
waressearcher2, presumably he works for alphabet not google
auscompgeek
waressearcher2: >implying Google engineers aren't computer nerds
LiENUS: YouTube is still part of Google, iiuc.
LiENUS
auscompgeek, you know alphabet is the parent company right?
auscompgeek
LiENUS: yes.

Spydemon
Hello. :) Is it a way for changing the priority order of css attributes from the userContent.css file and the gre-resources/forms.css one? The problem is that forms.css overrides the checkbox color to white whereas I would like to set it to black.
Cork
Spydemon: the only way is with !important
Spydemon
Cork, I tried with the !important flag, and now in theory, it's working& But in practive, I have something wired : http://share.spyzone.fr/firefox-checkbox-color.png . We can see on the screen that the computed color of the element is #FFF instead of the fact that the last one found in all css is #000. :-/
Cork
Spydemon: and that actually gives that as a visible effect?
i THINK the dev tools doesn't display !important values correct
at least i have a nagging memory telling me it used to be that way
Spydemon
Cork, actually, I think the problem is somewhere else& Even if I manually set a color, or a background-color to a checkbox nothing change. I just look about that on the Web, and I found that a checkbox is not supposed to be styled by css.
Cork
ah
checkbox
ya, you can't style checkboxes
Spydemon
So I'm wondering why now the color of those is white instead of the traditionnal black. ^^"
I guess the problem occurred after a firefox update.
crschmidt
waressearcher2: I work at Google, on YouTube; at a technical level I don't actually work for Alphabet. Yes, people at Google know what IRC is; IRC is one of the primary communication tools used by Google, especially for response to active incidents, because there's a tendency of other parts of Google infrastructure (eg hangouts, mail) to be down when there are site issues :)
(That probably got cut off)
auscompgeek
crschmidt: your entire message fit in a single IRC message, somewhat surprisingly :)
b0at
they know what is is. they just think the "I" stands for "internal".
crschmidt
Google's general "black hole of information" culture is strong, it's true.
I work my ass off to try and fix that for the limited set of problems that I work on; it was one of the biggest reasons I didn't want to join the company originally, and I still get yelled at for talking too much from time to time.
jnor
hello, how can I remove gradient from tabs bar and tabs
just want plain looking ty
voxadam
I'm trying out Firefox again after a few years on Chrome and I was wondering, is there some way to configure FF so that when I hove over the tab bar and spin the scrollwheel it switches between tabs instead of simply scrolling the tab bar right or left?

Is there anyone I can poke if I want to get some attention on a new crash bug?

denisbr
Hi all, my name is Denis, I´m brazilian, web developer at 2004 (I devel using PHP).
Cork
zid`: file a bug
zid`: that one should be under core > dom: indexeddb
zid`
aight I can try
Cork
zid`: there are helper links in the crash report
just click "Core" in the crash report and it will fill in the report correctly
you need to select dom: indexeddb manually though
zid`
yay silly password rules
Cork: it won't accept 41 branch + untriaged for Core
Cork
accept?
what do you mean?
zid`
That's what it said, seems to ahve gone through regardless though
Cork
could you post the link?
zid`
It said it wasn't valid and brought up a seperate screen with only those two listboxes, I just hit save again and it seems to have accepted it the 2nd time
Cork
ya, it most likely was cause of your permissions
zid`: could you post the bug number?
zid`
1210355
Cork
hmm didn't you use the crash report link?
the signature isn't filled in
zid`
what link
Cork
...
go to the crash report scroll down and you see a link to create a correct bug report
zid`
can I delete the old one
Cork
no
" Bugzilla - Report this bug in Firefox Core Plugins Toolkit" <--
zid`
the page won't load
okay there we go, I don't see that link, on that page either sigh, I think I remember it on about:crashes though
Cork: I've got a bunch, do we prefer the one with nvidia stuff on the stack or without
auscompgeek
about:crashes only lists and lets you clear your list of crash reports
