hello
I cannot boot into ubuntu due to a raid0 failure BUT the volume (ext3) on the raid set with the ubuntu installation is mountable. I want to backup all the bookmarks in firefox
can please someone tell me what file(s) contains the bookmarks ?
ovnicraft
hi folks how i can configure mime/types in my firefox
i upgrade my gnome and now that it doesnt works
Peng
doseryder: ~/.mozilla/firefox/*/places.sqlite. Might as well copy over as much of ~/.mozilla as you can, though.
doseryder
Peng: :S I don't know ANY (ZERO) sqlite. But does the "places.sqlite" contain all my bookmarks? Is restoring my bookmarks as simple as replacing that file?
ovnicraft
aka. i downloaded a pdf file and i double clicked it but it doesnt opens
i want to know where i must to configure that
doseryder
hello?
Peng
doseryder: Yes.
doseryder: contains your history, too
doseryder
Peng: really? its as simple as replacing that file? great.
Peng
doseryder: Why wouldn't you want to restore all of the other files as well?
doseryder: Well, I guess you should include places.sqlite-journal too if it exists.
doseryder
Peng: so my perhaps I should backup the old ~/.mozilla/ and replace it
Peng
Perhaps.
alabd
good day every one , how to fix these errors ?

and Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'font-size'. Declaration dropped.

Peng
alabd: 1.) This isn't really on-topic... 2.) "hand" is not a valid value for "cursor". Perhaps you wanted "pointer", which is typically represented by a hand. https://developer.mozilla.org/En/CSS/Cursor
alabd
peng thanks what is "hand" ?
Peng
alabd: What?
alabd
what do you mean of "hand" is not a valid value for "cursor".
Peng
alabd: 3.) My guess is that font-size must have a unit, e.g. "font-size: 1em;", so it's rejecting "font-size: 12;".
alabd: Line 50 of that CSS file is " CURSOR: hand;".

alabd
peng that is a page that contain a java applet that is for call ...
peng firefox can open it in vista of course it is opened in another system with linux debian5, why ? , means that applet can not be opened by other browsers too
in ubuntu
and gives those warnings
Peng
alabd: Those warnings are completely unrelated to Java...
alabd
that applet shows sound level of mic and ...
Peng
alabd: If you are the webmaster of http://www.telefonkort.net/, you should fix them, though.
alabd: Sorry, I don't know anything about Java...
alabd
see that is not java problem ok ?
i humble am not webmaster of that site
so why does that applet is opened in other systems ?
Peng
No clue, sorry.
P'raps you should try irc.mozilla.org.
alabd
ok thanks
is "hand" a valid value for "cursor" in all system peng ?
Peng
alabd: Some CSS parsers may implement non-standard extensions, but it is not a part of the CSS standard. And it still has nothing to do with Java.
s/parsers/implementations/
alabd
peng that means if not openinig applet was cause of those warning , applet should not be opened in any system right
Peng
alabd: 1.) Yes. 2.) They're not related!
alabd
thanks peng
peng which channel ?
Peng
alabd: #firefox, I guess
alabd
no there is not
Peng
Whowhat?
auscompgeek

Peng
Ah, another person!
alabd

Peng
auscompgeek: alabd is having problems loading a Java applet on http://www.telefonkort.net/ on Debuntu, though it works fine on Vista. I think.

auscompgeek

Peng
alabd: At least upgrade to 3.0.15 for the piles of security fixes!
alabd
peng 3.5.5 is downloaded but running flie name firefox in tar.gz opens 3.0.8 ...
Peng
alabd: Are you not doing "./firefox"?
kbrosnan

Not sure if this is where to ask. Would you know anything about the Vuze firefox toolbar?
auscompgeek
(Action) doesn't use toolbars
a lot of joins and quits...
kolla
is there a way to make fullscreen truly fullscreen again, without the silly border at the top?
auscompgeek
that's probably so that you can make the toolbars appear again...
kolla
wasnt like that earlier
I suppose someone fount it necessary to hint about where the toolbar is, or something
but it's really annoying when one use fullscreenmode for kiosk-like stuff
tech-mike
sup peeps, just wondering if using the adobe flash 10.1 (which is x32 i think) is better than the x64 pre-release ?
kolla
ok, installing this fullscreen-extension seems to fix things
tech-mike
sup peeps, just wondering if using the adobe flash 10.1 (which is x32 i think) is better than the x64 pre-release ?
is there a need for the flash 10.1 installer rather than just placing the .so in ./mozilla/plugins ?
woshty

Hi guys. I have just noticed that the text(font) looks uglier/more rough in Firefox than on IE. The "7"'s an "v"'s are very edged. Have I forgot to turn on some feature?

hey all, when I load a RSS feed into Firefox and does show all fancy and such, when I look with firebug all sorts of HTML is added, I don't want that... how do I turn that off?
kbrosnan
ries: do you run the feed?
ries
kbrosnan: I just try to open this page : http://www.avaya.com/usa/product_rss.asp?ListOffers=Yes&RSS=Yes
and it shows nme things like 'subscribe to this feed'
But that is generated by firefox...
kbrosnan
ries: yes but that does not answer the question. are you running the site providing the feed?
ries
Ahh.. sorry,, no I don't
I just need to consume it for a application and using xpather I wanted to run some xpath queries against it
However, xpather 'sees' teh html, and not the origional XML
kbrosnan
options or prefs > applcations > web feed
ries
kbrosnan: I cannot deleted it, and I don't see a option to 'leave it as it is'
kbrosnan
what are you trying to do, it is not clear to me

hi there, I'm trying to recover a stored password from my home PC ; got to the encryptedPassword field in signons.sqlite and it looks like base64 but the output is gibberish (and it doesn't seem to be an encoding problem). Does anyone know what encoding is used for password storage?
s/the output/the output from a base64 decoder/
towardme
I wondered if the problems associated with flash content causing surge in CPU usage in firefox 3.5 has been fixed in 3.6 version
magnet
I have an hop between my PC and the one at work due to the firewall, and I really don't want to set-up a tunnel to do X forwarding so I am stuck recovering from the commandline :)
I also tried javascript:atob("encodedPassword") but it outputs gibberish too. Is there a seed or something?
kbrosnan
all the paswords are encrypted with a key
magnet
kbrosnan, a different key or a common one? Static in firefox, or available somewhere in signons.sqlite? I don't use a master key (I use proper file permissions instead)
kbrosnan
key3.db
magnet
ouch. that's a huge binary key :)
i wanted to avoid downloading key3.db & signons.sqlite on this PC (I have work-related sessions I don't want to override) but it looks like it's a pain to recover the password with good old unix commands..
do you know of any command line tool that runs Linux and does the job?
or I'll just have to wait to get home
kbrosnan
i don't
magnet
okay well, thanks for your help. It'll teach me to use a new random password for everything and storing them in firefox ;)
bye
zombie_monkey
I just got a pure virtual function call error from firefox on vista
I found a few reported bugs about it but
no idea what coused it
so anyway, anyone got any ideas what to check for a possible cause or should I just ignore it
Mattias
"pure virtual function call error"?
zombie_monkey
yes, that's what it said
Mattias
ya, but what do you mean by it?
zombie_monkey
well the window was named "visuals c++ runtime library"
and that's what the text inside it said
Mattias
runtime error ah
zombie_monkey: what was the exact error message in the c++ runtime error window?
zombie_monkey
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe : R6025 pure virtual function call error
