hello everyone, i'm not able to receive emails, i receive no errors from where I try to send, can someone help me with this issue, I'm using centos 6 + ISP Manager
henk
maybe, if you provide more detail &
rembo
henk, i'm using dovecot as pop3, imap mail server , and mail deliver agent procmail
no one can send email to my email server
henk
uhm ok &
rembo
i think is a MTA issue or something . . .
henk
Im not sure how to help you, apart from telling you to learn about email or how to ask smart questions and people rarely appreciate that &
What happens when they try? Maybe this will give a starting point &
Which domain is affected? Use swaks to try sending a mail to your server and pastebin the output please.
rembo
when i try to send from other email address, the emails are sent with no error
but when i check my email box of my server using webmail or outlook express there is no email received
henk
Whats in your exims logs?
rembo
henk, http://pastebin.com/BFpvvSvd

henk
swaks output?
rembo
what is swaks?
henk
Swiss Army Knife SMTP
rembo
i need to install swaks on my server
?
henk
no
rembo
i have install swaks on my local linux desktop
and i send an email to email server and i get this: http://pastebin.com/shFsVdw9
henk
good, so your server actually does seem able to receive mails &
rembo
i think so, yes, but they are not shown to me
i check all boxes , including spam folder drafts or trash
notkoos
well: mail was received by sendmail :)
rembo
great, but not display to me
henk
rembo: find out whats listening on port 25 and then where that puts received mails, then configure your pop/imap server to look there.
rembo
torontoyes
I ran this command: exim -bt -d-resolver someemail@nsc.ca
henk
notkoos: you were right it seems (:
torontoyes
and I was not able to find the mx for it..
what does exim use to do the lookup? where is that defined?
I got this result
dnslookup router: defer for someemail@nsc.ca
message: host lookup did not complete
someemail@nsc.ca cannot be resolved at this time: host lookup did not complete
search_tidyup called
however.. when I check i against my dns.. can find mx no problem.
*check it against
any ideas?
henk
try again later?
how long have you been having this problem? is it just this one domain? which dns server is that system using? how do you "check it against your dns" exactly?
torontoyes
give me a moment.. will look into it
just stumbled upon this now.
boubou
SPF filtering
This is provided via the macro CHECK_RCPT_SPF, set it to true.
which file ?
henk
exim only uses one config file &
boubou
then /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf
?
sorry im new to exim

henk
no, read /usr/share/doc/exim4-base/README.Debian.gz to learn how to use the debian config scheme for exim
& and what else is debian-specific
boubou
Instead of generating a certificate, you may simply copy certificates that you have purchased or generated previously.
Edit /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template
add the following line before .ifdef MAIN_TLS_ENABLE
how should I set it to true ?
CHECK_RCPT_SPF
./etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template is only used with the non-split
# configuration scheme.
henk
you can read about macros on http://exim.org/exim-html-current/doc/html/spec_html/ch-the_exim_run_time_configuration_file.html#SECTmacrodefs
boubou
then .ifndef CHECK_RCPT_SPF
CHECK_RCPT_SPF = true
.endif
ok
torontoyes
what does exim use to resolve email domains?
henk
Id guess on the system resolver
hallacks
Hello, exim have any cache system for filters? I removed a couple of filter rules but exim still filtering by those criterias . PD I'd restarted exim many times.
