gryzor
Greetings. I am having a spamassassin activation problem on debian lenny's exim4.
Has to be something obvious i miss.
I have the usual "warn message = X-Spam-Score: $spam_score ($spam_bar)" lines in the check_data phase
I don't have an accept before them.
spamd is running (and logging that it starts, etc), but I never get any scanning log from it. So I suppose something must be wrong in my exim conf.

I have an email account and IMAP access to it. Is there a way I can use exim to essentially "clone" the remote mailbox and allow me to read them with IMAP?
Cult
gryzor, are you tried start smapd with -D (debug) key?
gryzor
Cult: trying... thank you
Cult: no use.
It really looks like spamassassin receives nothing to scan.
(spamassassin works fine if i run spamc by hand)
Cult
gryzor, hum. may I see spamd log with -D key?
gryzor
Sure
Cult
as I know many problems because spamassasin are not learned.
need to start sa-learn. but I thing you did that. :)

This is at spamassassin startup
I get no other message if I don't run spamc by hand.
if I run spamc, I get normal, functionnal log messages by spamd
I just want exim to run it for me now :)
Cult
no, this is base log. If you start spamd with -D, log will be much more.

However, spamd works for me. What doesnt work is exim connecting to it. Will the spamd -D output help for that ?
Cult
exim probably connecting, but does not receive from the spamd that result which you want. spamd -D may help for that, yes.
exim adjustment too simple that the error was in that. :)
gryzor
Ok
this is what I get on std(out|err) at startup :
http://apache.pastebin.com/dQd5EjP6
The log is very quiet still.
Cult
hm. so strange spamd not show information about him spam bases.
in FreeBSD this log over 150 lines. :)
gryzor, I'm really sorry, I can't help you. It's not enough information. may be you try help here http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/FrontPage ?
gryzor
Cult: thank you for trying
Cult: Do you have a suggestion about how to check whether exim is really connecting to the spamd socket ?
oh, I'll tcpdump
Cult
yes. or sockstat maybe.
gryzor, I stop spamd daemon and sent msg to exim, and exim paniclog write "2010-05-06 22:30:47 1OA5qR-000FLG-Dy spam acl condition: warning - spamd connection to 127.0.0.1, port 783 failed: Connection refused". :)
funny method.
gryzor
tcpdump reveals no traffic at all on the spamd socket
Cult
are you sent msg to exim? I'm not sure what exim exchanging information with spamd at idle time.
gryzor
Yes, I send a message for testing, each time.
Cult
gryzor, may I see your exim config?
gryzor
Complete config ?
or just "acl_check_data:" section ?
Cult
all before "ROUTERS CONFIGURATION" section please.
gryzor
ok
can I PM you the URL of it ?
it's not so public
Cult
sure.
