How do I force processing the queue?
phx
MTecknology, man exim
anyone awake here? :)

mhm
got an idea
FUCK ldap_quote_dn !
Schmee
evening all
phx
morning Schmee
Schmee
how's things?
phx
don't use ldap_quote_dn for ldapauth on the ldapdn's result
that's up
Schmee
in what context?
phx
in a string expansion
Schmee
quoting ldap queries is a bit hit and miss I'm afraid

phx
it escapes the comas, which it shouldn't :)
well, i'm making exim authenticating from a microsoft AD LDAP backend
it's quite tricky
Schmee
not that tricky, I've got an install kicking around somewhere that I managed to make work
mind you that was an older version of AD (win 2k domain)
aside from the quoting problem, how are you getting along?
phx
2k3 domani it is
quite fine, i have to check for empty user/pass and i'm nearly done with this
Schmee
sounds like a fun job
phx
yup
Schmee
how are you with relaying issues in exim?
phx
i don't have relaying issues
i'm denying everything.
Schmee
sounds sensible
unfortunately I have one that is relaying, wihtout relaying
phx
better be safe than sorry :)
Schmee
all relay tests I've done say this server is locked up tight, but I'm getting relaying for domains that I havent' specifically allowed
what I really need is a complete log of the entire transaction and I havent' been able ot figure that out
phx
-d+acl
Schmee
hmm, that seems to work. now I just have to watch it until the relaying happens again
phx
i'd suggest 2>&1 | tee exim.log
and also, man exim
Schmee
man exim I have covered, I just had problems realising that the log_selector is different to the debug flags
phx
if you want debugging then use debugging and not logging
Schmee
logging gives me something to physically look through on a running system without generally messing people around. debugging I find relies on someone to be watching it
but I do see your point
phx
you turn on debugging, reproduce the issue and check the logs. it's really simple
Schmeee
sorry about that. I have a tempermental dsl router

hello
i am trying to link exim.conf variables directly into mysql but it seems i cannot do that with all of them
like i tried to do : rfc1413_query_timeout = ${lookup mysql {SELECT value FROM exim WHERE variable='rfc1413_query_timeout' }} but i got slapped over the face and exim won't start anymore stating "invalid time value for rfc1413_query_timeout"
Cult
rfc1413_query_timeout requests static value of time which remains to constants. for what to use mysql?

dape
well, i am trying to build up an exim configure interface via web, so i can only lookup data like domains and such via mysql?
Cult
hm. I suppose you may use shell regexp resourses for variables which cannot possible use by mysql.
dape
aight, good to know
thx

Starting exim: 2010-05-10 13:19:23 Exim configuration error in line 246 of /etc/exim.conf: main option "helo_verify" unknown
any reason it doesn't like helo_verify?
henk
crazed: what's 'helo_verify'? can't find it in the docs...
Cult
standalone option helo_verify are not exist.

check the current version of the docs, or the one appropriate for the version of exim you run
