Hi, can anyone explain why 'temporarily rejected during MIME ACL checks: cannot test recipients condition in MIME ACL'?
I can't think of any reason why checking for recipients at that stage wouldn't work
works for fine checking senders, as well
henk
it doesn't make sense afaik
lennard
this is on a stock debian lenny (exim4-daemon-heavy)
what doesn't - the checking or the error?
henk
lennard: the exim config is certainly not stock... there is nothing about mime in the standard debian config.
lennard
oh, yeah, thats true, the acl is mine
but the software is debian :)
the reason is I want to do some file extension checks - except for some recipients
henk
paste the acl on a pastebin please.
lennard
hmm, I think I just got the answer somewhere else - the mime acl runs when there could be multiple recipients
so, yeah, that explains, thanks for the help though :)

Trying to fiddle (in a sick way, sure...) with local_part_suffix...
I had +* : -* : /*
I try to add \:* : |* : '*
But I get unknown user errors
"sendmail process failed with error code 1"?

Greetings! I use Exim with x509 certificates, and exim complains that it cannot open the certificate files. Do I really have to make the path to the keys owned by the exim4 user, or can I configure exim4 to first open the cert files and then drop privileges?
jae
Forget what I asked, it's solved (just confused the various routers :P
While I'm here... can I use a macro as a string list? The docs (while absolutely wonderful in general) are a bit unclear on this (or I may have missed it)
jeeger: what are the owner:group and the perms of the certs?
jeeger
jae: root:root, rw-------.
jae
Same here (okay, I've rw-r-----, but that's basically the same with group root), and it works (exim running as Debian-exim... guess the dist ;))
jeeger
^^
jae
Stupid questions time: do have the path set right?
jeeger
yep, the path is correct.
jae: Reads on the website that the file should be root:Debian-exim rw-r-----
:q
Yeah, now works. However, I'm not really happy with these permissions...
jae
If you're that paranoid, maybe you should look into postfix ;-P
(Action) feels pretty stupid, now that he checked with RFC2822 and noticed no ":" in the atext production *d'oh*
jeeger
jae: Paranoid, not masochist^^
jae
postfix isn't *that* bad
Mystique
CunningPike: are you here?
CunningPike
Mystique: What's up
Mystique
morning/afternoon ;)
I was asking about the base64 encoding of an email message..
trying to figure out if it's mua or mta that does it..
guess that was on Friday..
CunningPike
Mystique: The MUA would - the MTA typically doesn't care
Mystique
so decoding base64 is something that 'most' readers can do?
CunningPike
Mystique: I would have thought so - what is your actual problem?
Mystique
not a problem; looking to make base64 happen for email..

i need to produce load and test functinality
anybody ?
ShaunR222
is there a command like exim -bp but will display each message one line at a time..
to make it easier for parsing.

jae
Can't rewrite a header (From:) with text extracted from the message body with an exim filter, can I?
I'd like to not have to touch procmail again... :P
