Can I do a mysql lookup in a condition?
Basically I only want a router to match if 1 is set in a specific DB field
romel
edeca, why don't you apply checks on submission port?
edeca
Hm, that's not the problem I'm trying to fix, but that's a good point
Can I check submission port in a router?
Ah, {!eq {$received_port}{587}}
romel: Or do you mean in my configuration that I pasted for you?
romel: If so, I don't apply checks as all mail is authenticated and I don't want to virus/spam scan it particularly
romel
got it
edeca
romel: I should virus scan I guess
romel: Perhaps I'll change that ;)
(Action) finishes integrating dspam
Buck
hey all
while trying to set up my mail transfers, I get this error: transport "remote_smtp_smarthost" not found in smarthost router
where can I fix it?
edeca
Buck: Are you trying to do smarthosting specifically?
Buck: Basically you have a router but you seem to be missing a transport
FabTG
hi everyone, i can't figure out why my server machine refuse telnet on port #25, since i have opened smtp service in my firewall
do you have some ideas?
henk
FabTG: perhaps it's only listening on localhost?

FabTG
hi henk, normally i'm listening everywhere
henk
FabTG: check with netstat or something.
FabTG
henk: that certainly that i have only a localhost entry
well it's corrected, it says connected to example.Org, escape character... but nothing more..
henk
wait
FabTG
i should have a #220 response (that's what i get from localhost)
henk
true... so you got a connection refused before you corrected the interfaces exim is listening on, right?
FabTG
yes, and once corrected it writes connected to example.org
but nothing more although from localhost i got a #220 message
quite strange
ln-
some ISPs block smtp from outside
FabTG
ln-: i don't get out my LAN
in fact i try to send a mail thru my lan
but at first i can't even connect with telnet
henk
FabTG: ok, and now you get what when connecting from an external host? a timeout?
Joelio
Does anyone here see strange issue under heavy load with only a syn packet being sent and thus not opeing a connection (Debian Lenny).
I'm thinking it might be a kernel issue as the kernel from Etch (box was dist-uipgraded)is fine
FabTG
henk: well i forgot to laucnh exim4 -bd , scuse me ;)
so netstat -a | grep smtp give me another entry
and telnet says connected but nothing more
i did'nt know that /etc/init.d/exim4 start wasn't sufficient enough to run exim4
??
what is for exim4 -bd ??
henk
it should be...
FabTG: man exim4
FabTG
henk: i've already read the man page, but surprisingly, exim -bd leads to another entry of netstat -a | grep smtp
