I've reconfigured exim4 to attempt to relay mail through smtp.gmail.com (I hope; used debian's `dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config`), and given it my username and password in /etc/exim4/passwd.client . However, it doesn't seem I'm recieving any mail when sending it through PHP. No errors show up in /var/log/exim4/mainlog. What's the most likely issue?
Alrighty, NOW I get it failed with 'autentication required'.
Okay. Exim4 isn't even trying authentication, even though I have the server set up to auth in /etc/exim4/passwd.client. What's up?
'm attempting to use exim4 as a client for SMTP AUTH. However, http://pkg-exim4.alioth.debian.org/README/README.Debian.html#smtp-auth doesn't cause it to auth with gmail. Doesn't even attempt. Why not?
guys, i'm looking into debian's exim config, and see this rewrite
*@ETC_MAILNAME "${lookup{${local_part}}lsearch{/etc/email-addresses}{$value}fail}" Ffrs
question - what {$value} means here? in lookup documentation i can't see 3rd parametr... only key & where
CoolCold: what are you trying to say?
henk: that documentation section miss full form..may be it is obvious that Lookup section miss full definition and one should look into Expation items section, but was not obvious for me
CoolCold: ah, yes, that's true
