29:48 Never have you read a documentation before this, nor have you ever transcribed one with your right hand. Had you done either of these, - the unbelievers might have justly doubted. But to those who are endowed with knowledge it is an undoubted sign. Only the wrongdoers deny Our signs.

Oh sh**! Possible overly long search. Bailing.

so it is for w questions?

Hello.
blackwind_123
hi , qq about org mode... is it possible to track the financial records using org mode... like expenditure/earning etc etc

Welcome to Emacs! Anything is possible in Emacs. Anything at all! Welcome to Emacs! Welcome! In Emacs, the only limit is you. The unattainable is unknown in Emacs. Welcome to Emacs! Anything at all is possible in Emacs! Welcome! Welcome!
deego
ryouma: yes, and other cases.
parsnip
blackwind_123: besides just using the plain text, tables and other org features however, there are external ledger apps, one of which i think is known to work in org-mode
,ledger

ledger is a CLI double-entry accounting tool <http://ledger-cli.org>, #ledger

wasamasa: i think read is invoked so that it can read a lisp expression.
parsnip
there is also a similar project hledger IIRC which has overlapping syntax for your financial records, and has a webpage GUI interface as well. (h is for haskell.)
deego
overlapping syntax?
parsnip
deego: i think most of your plain text records can be used interchangeably in ledger-cli and hledger.
deego
ah
parsnip
but ledger-cli may work with your org files more out of the box.
*"out of the box"
hmm, anyone successfully transplant their coffee addiction to a tea addiction?
fsvo addiction ;)
deego
i did, and finally gave up that as well. :(
you as well?
taylanub
I drank 1-2 cups of coffee a day for a while but it never seemed to turn into addiction. maybe it was too little.
I also switched to tea, and stopped that too some time (as the weather got hot, actually)
parsnip
deego: you weened off coffee and tea?
taylanub
so I dunno, just go cold turkey? maybe the addiction is all in your head? you can do it etc.
(Action) is not a good motivator
parsnip
it's difficult because i've "lived" in the cafe for some time now.
blackwind_123
sorry got diconnected... parsnip : anything else was discussed on tat.,..?
deego
parsnip: yes

Is it possible to use curl to url-encode on the command line?

taylanub: with around a cup a day during the week, I'm fine on weekends when I don't have it.

myrkraverk: dunno about curl but Emacs has url-hexify-string

blackwind_123: and ,,hledger,, is fun to play with too. almost same data format, i.e., overlap in your records' syntax.

taylanub: thanks - the idea was to use a pipeline to generate a few different encodings with iconv and then url-encode.
so still preferring the command line.
(though using emacs in batch mode is a last resort)
parsnip
deego: fsbot got a little impatient with me there :(
blackwind_123
parsnip : so in hledger h stands for haskell... does it give more functionality compared to ledger+org..?
deego
parsnip: i saw your privmsg to fsbot. when fsbot invokes google on its own in #emacs, it adds in emacs to the search. hence the difference.
,hledger
fsbot
Perhaps you could go into more detail?
parsnip
blackwind_123: from what i remember, it has a nice GUI webapp interface. i leaned towards that, as managing babel block sessions is not something i've gotten really good at. though i did make it through the org-mode/ledger tutorial.
the ledger file was nice enough to edit directly at times, and there is an emacs major mode to assist.
so in total, there are three haskell apps: xmonad, hledger and pandoc.
,haskell is also "so in total, there are three haskell apps: xmonad, hledger and pandoc."
