parsnip
aaahhh, org-file-apps-defaults-osx
ryouma
oh yeah for osx
it's convoluted, but not the most convoluted that emacs does
parsnip
ryouma: http://sprunge.us/UijS
i
i'll just use C-u RET until i get sick of it
ironically, previously i was suing C-u C-u RET to open with external applicationsin gnu/linux
to a rough approximation, i wil have to press C-u half as often
ryouma: i think you might have that variable, there's a correlation i can't type when my brow is furrowed
(it's mentioned in docs of org-file-apps)
bremner
can I dynamically-bind a hook variable? or will mysterious and strange things happen?
mysterious, strange, and bad things.
Ephexeve
on Mu4e, when sending an email, I am getting gnutls.c: [0] (Emacs) fatal error: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated
Any clue about this error?
This only happens on Archlinux. OSX seems to work just fine.
bremner
I don't think it's directly mu4e related. There are several bugs with TLS handling that I notice when using e.g. package.el
Ephexeve
hmmm, I see
Hmm, weird, I am using exact the same emacs conf on osx :(
it works just fine
bremner
yes, but you're not using the same emacs binary
Ephexeve
have tou managed to fix the bugs you found?

bremner
no
Ephexeve
:(
bremner
does it abort the sending of the message, or just annoy you?
Ephexeve
it doesn't send
it keeps the email on queue and it never sends
it gives me the error and then it asks me for the smtp password
(which I have in gpg, so I shoudl work automatically)
since it fails, it asks me for the pwd
parsnip
static ip is like $10 a month? there are strategies a magnitude cheaper?
miskatonic
fsbot: botsnack
fsbot
(Action) dances happily
parsnip
:( destroyed my xubuntu vm
fixed it :)
theos
bricked my phone
bremner
are you guys writing a nerdy country song?
miskatonic
there are nerdy country songs? Aren't they all for bored housewives?
nerds would prefer grand operas or something like that, wouldn't they?
ryouma
miskatonic: they have trains in common
wasamasa
blaenk: you could be using quelpa instead of el-get
blaenk: or if there are no dependencies to handle, grab the package and do M-x package-install-from-buffer
blaenk: SML is for people who don't want to tinker with their modeline
bremner: so is powerline and whatnot
blaenk
thanks wasamasa
parsnip
wasamasa: consider TOC for init.org? i found an org-toc i'm thinking of trying
wasamasa
parsnip: if it's an automatic thing, sure
parsnip: like, something I could just run after every save
parsnip: it would need to be something that transforms the org document, not an export option for output formats
parsnip
wasamasa: right, package claims it's on melpa, i'll look a little more.
wasamasa
it should also be idempotent, so that it would work on both an unmodified and modified org file
parsnip
ah, it's renamed to toc-org
yeah, packages explains everytime you save, headline with :TOC: tag is updated
wasamasa
"useful primarily for readme files on GitHub"
yay
(Action) proceeds reading the sources

parsnip
yay
rudybot: i eat serials like you for breakfast
rudybot
parsnip: It's a website that you feed a domain name to and it yells are you for various stupid things, like low TTLs and bad serials
wasamasa
parsnip: and I broke it :D
parsnip: it doesn't like if the heading to tocify is a link
parsnip
okay, will keep my headings simple for this file for now
wasamasa
(Action) hands in a bug report
it also doesn't strip TODO from the header
parsnip
wasamasa: i think i've actually seen that in other exports
rudybot: how long till github has folding in README?

parsnip
rudybot: how can you not tell me!?
rudybot
parsnip: can someone plz tell me how to use "umlauts" in emacs post-mode (post.el) for use in mutt
parsnip
rudybot: tell github so i don't have to put ";;; -*- mode: elisp -*-" in my .gnus
rudybot
parsnip: rudybot is written in plt scheme - you can find it on github
wasamasa
parsnip: https://github.com/snosov1/toc-org/issues/3
(Action) goes for a shower
parsnip
(Action) consider finally being sick of git commits using vim, make 'emacs -q' soon
your init.org is described as an experiment. have you made measurements and a report yet ;)
wasamasa
no measurements, but I'm a lot happier with it than before
also, other people like it!
it's no longer this impenetrable mess of loads of small files where you actually need a guide to understand how they interlock
parsnip
.org is a bit easier to manipulate, and add notes
i just started a private repo, so i can ignore what's secret while i focus on bigger picture
wasamasa
you pay for github?
parsnip
for last couple months
wasamasa
ok then
parsnip
life may be simpler now. all configs and related notes are in one repo.
except for really secret stuff, .authinfo.gpg, .ssh, that stays elsewhere.
atmc
i'm configuring gnus for gmail but my labels in gmail are displayed twice in the gnus groups
oh i'm using imap
parsnip
*Group* buffer?
atmc
yes
every time reopen gnus it duplicates all entries again
hm not everytime
adgtl
btw.. how to move cursor to p in text swap(44, 55)
parsnip
all configs are in one place? how do you subscribe? manually in *Group* buffer? some elisp list?
adgtl
when my cursor is at the end
two many key strokes I guess
swap(44, 55)*
