does anyone else use hub with magit? I just installed magit 2.1.0 (which is great!) and using subcommands doesn't seem to use my git executable.
in magit I have hub set for my git executable so in magit I can do subcommand `pull-request` to create pull requests, but I get an error that pull-request isn't a git command (which it isn't), but since I'm using hub, it should be
aidalgol
wgreenhouse: that is... strange...
wgreenhouse
aidalgol: it's one of their oauth-based signin options, along with twitter
aidalgol
wgreenhouse: you should set up your router with an "unsecured" AP and have it screw with people.
e.g. it flips all text and images.
or replaces all images with lolcats
wgreenhouse
ah yeah, I'm familiar with that one
or Nic Cages
remote Caging would be about my speed

or it looks innocent, but every few pages have text corruption and images Lovecraftian monsters

ooo! a program that zalgofies photos!

Created new entry for "Zalgo"
wgreenhouse
aidalgol: I was hoping that fsbot already had an implemented zalgotext function
JordiGH
I actually thought fsbot's original response to Zalgo was ironically appropriate.

wasamasa: hi
wasamasa: are you here?
wasamasa

aidalgol
wgreenhouse: oh wait, zalgo text would be text corruption
kovrik
I had no time to try to reproduce that bug with emacs -q
wgreenhouse
aidalgol: yeah, zalgoization would be the corrupted composing characters
there are bots for that on the web too
aidalgol
wgreenhouse: non-malicious bots?
kovrik
wasamasa: and I have a question for you :) Say I run emacs -q. Then what? How to load only eyebrowse + evil?
wgreenhouse
,tell kovrik about install
fsbot
kovrik: install -- [0/5] To install a <file>.el, save it to e.g.~/elisp
[1] add to the beginning of ~/.emacs: (add-to-list 'load-path "~/elisp"),
[2] now FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FILE, typically adding (require '<file>) to the end of ~/.emacs, ..[Type ,more]

wasamasa
kovrik: M-x package-initialize
kovrik: then do M-x evil-mode and M-x eyebrowse-mode
aidalgol
wgreenhouse: hmm, not subtle enough
(yes, I know, irrelevant to whether it's malicious)
technomancy: ping
wgreenhouse
aidalgol: "mini zalgo" is almost subtle enough for the transparent-proxy creepytext-injection
kovrik
wasamasa: yes, forgot to do package-initialize
wasamasa: thanks
wasamasa: works fine
weird

wasamasa
what works fine?
kovrik
can't reproduce that bug in emacs -q
wasamasa
oh well
then I'm glad, I wouldn't want to find yet another mark-related error
kovrik
And I'm not glad because now I don't know how to fix it :)
wasamasa
well, ,,bisect
fsbot
[0] If "emacs --debug-init" doesn't help, comment out half of ~/.emacs and try to reproduce the issue. Recurse as necessary. See also ,,-q and ,,ielm.

to explain what could be possibly going on
emacs is a giant repl centered around the command loop
one of the variables involved is the mark state
so, if a command sets `deactivate-mark', this signals it that any active region shall be deactivated
now, imagine something sets this very often and your region will appear completely broken
this is fixed in emacs 25 since from there on that variable works buffer-locally
less serious variants of this just deactivate it once
lxsameer
macros should return a list right?
wasamasa
yes
kovrik
wasamasa: it's even worse. This bug occurs only for some lines in buffer
wasamasa
kovrik: wat
kovrik
yep
aha
it occurs only on long lines
only on wrapped lines
at least in emacs -q session
in normal emacs session it occurs everywhere
wasamasa
wat
tali713
lxsameer: no, macros should /expand/ to an sexp, which includes lists but is not limited to lists. more importantly the sexp needs to be valid in an evaluation context.
lxsameer: but a macro that expanded to a string would be just fine
lxsameer
tali713: thanks I mixed up in macros
tali713: let me show you an example
kovrik
wasamasa: this bug drives me
tali713
lxsameer: for example generating a regexp via macro is fine.
lxsameer: I'm on my way out, unfortunately. But the rule remains the same, macros expand to sexps.
lxsameer
tali713: thanks
kovrik
wasamasa: if I turn off toggle-truncate-lines, then everything works
wasamasa
kovrik: I don't get it
kovrik: how is this even possible?
lxsameer
wasamasa: dude do you have time to guide me with this code example please? http://dpaste.com/21HSG3S
kovrik
wasamasa: have no idea. Emacs' black magic
wasamasa
lxsameer: ITYM tali713
kovrik: ok, so what exactly are you testing this on, a file with long lines?
aidalgol
wgreenhouse: You should set up the router like that on Halloween for A., and then pretend not to see it when she shows you and asks what's going on.
rudybot: Whadda ya think his chances are if he pulls a stunt like that?
rudybot
aidalgol: whadda I gotta do, everything?
offby1
rudybot: a little less
rudybot
*offby1: don't some bikes have a quick release mechanism for front wheel then owner chains the rest to make theft less desirable?
aidalgol
rudybot: YES
rudybot
aidalgol: Yes, M-TAB does some kind of completion (completion-at-point from minibuffer.el) but I've got no idea where does it get if from (it seems that it is not specific for the buffer from where it is invoked)
kovrik
wasamasa: yes. emacs -q, enabled evil-mode, eyebrowse-mode. Turned on truncate-long-lines. If line is wrapped, then bug occurs. Otherwise it doesn't. ALSO if I turn off eyebrowse-mode, then bug doesn't occur even on long lines %)
wasamasa
kovrik: emacs version?
kovrik
24.4.91.1
and it's windows :) I'm at work now
I don't understand how eyebrowse's indicator and truncate-long-lines are related
