JordiGH: do you actually want to discuss it or do you want someone to disagree with your stance on it so you can flame them

benaiah
cause the social-issue flamewars are getting pretty damn boeing
*boring
ham-peas
nah, a boeing flamewar is direct linkage vs. FBW
ryouma

Hedgework
Guest46205: You broke it.
Guest46205

what ?
benaiah
so, my boss was detecting 404s by checking if the error string ended with "cannot be found."
Guest46205
what im broke ?

Hedgework
Guest46205: That was a sarcastic response to your spamming us with random integers.
(Action) facepalms in benaiah's direction.
Guest46205
Hedgework what ??
fsbot
Highly likely.
benaiah
so when I deleted a control, and asp.net sent an error message saying "Event 'Click' cannot be found.", it turned it into a 404 which was then 301'd to another place due to a weird entry in our redirect table. I've spent all fu*king day working on this.
Fuco
JordiGH: this just mean there *was* a point to google code after all... no social bullsh*t, just code (and terrible UI)!
Hedgework
Guest46205: we were seeing the '/2' '/3' and so on you kept sending.
Guest46205
you saw that ? sorry i dont know
Hedgework
Guest46205: That's okay, I told you so you would know in the future.
benaiah
Guest46025: irc doesn't filter out every message that starts with /
Guest46205
yes my clienr irssi do that
but now im on emacs irssi and wanna know how to switch channels and im trying
;p
benaiah
Guest46205: if nothing in between you and the server recognizes the command, it just sends it to the channel
Guest46205
okay okay
anyone was using ERC maybe ?
benaiah
Guest46205: to switch chatrooms in erc, just use C-x b
each room is a different buffer
Guest46205
oh yeah
thank you :)
benaiah
Guest46205: np
Guest46205
ERC is still updater or fallen project ?
maybe i should use more up to date client in emacs ?
benaiah
Guest46205: erc is quite good, though some prefer rcirc or circe
it's still actively maintained AFAIK
Guest46205
i see, i was try they but have a problems with non-multiple channels i think
but last release of ERC is from 2008 i quess ?
its kind of out of date little
benaiah
Guest46205: sorry, I don't understand the message starting with "i see"
it's not out of date. irc hasn't changed in a long time.
Guest46205
oh i see, message with "i see" is: i was try rcirc and circe but i was have a problems that any other channel open in new buffer
or something like this, maybe ill try it in future but now ill stay with erc its looking good for me
benaiah
Guest46205: I'm pretty sure all the extant emacs irc clients use one-buffer-per-channel
Guest46205
can you tell me how to check online players on channel ?
users* xd
benaiah
Guest46205: /names
Guest46205
oh, okay, tomorrow maybe i little configure it
to more cleary and nice look
its configurable client in that options ?
benaiah
Guest46205: it's quite configurable, yes, though you may have to write elisp to do some things
try M-x customizze-group erc
Guest46205
great :) i wanna learn elisp so then ill have possibilities
benaiah
*customize-group
Guest46205
okay thanks :) i do it tomorrow
tell me one more thing, i can see any another color or blinks or something when somebody write to me on another channel ?
ryouma
Guest46205: probably all the major clients can put stuff in the mode line
Guest46205
okay then ill try to enable that :)
ryouma
also sauron
benaiah
Guest46205: there are also a number of libraries that allow you to use native notification centers on mac or linux
Guest46205
okay
benaiah

rudybot: I hate it when your jokes go over my head

benaiah: They could have gone with the menstrual jokes.
benaiah
rudybot: maybe it was for the best then
rudybot
benaiah: whats best function/var to get time or elapsed time in seconds? (just want someting to mod to get a fllag every X seconds)
aidalgol
Plug in USB<->serial adaptor on... Windows 7: ~20 seconds to appear as a COM port; Debian GNU/Linux: ~2 seconds to appear in /dev/
Not that I haven't said it before, but embedded development on Windows is a misery.
benaiah
aidalgol: but if it only takes two seconds is it *secure*??
fsbot
Definitely
