Let's make generalization about people that don't apply to us... I mean, after all, ours are probably better since the average person doesn't know jack sh*t about making generalizations.
People always want to make stupid generalizations so quickly these days.
jlf
til that "evolutionary robotics" is a thing
hodapp
jlf: add an 'r' on that and I'm coming after rudybot with a crowbar in one hand
(at the beginning of course)
ijp
jlf: nuhuh, robots were constructed by a divine creator
jlf
rudybot: is this true?
rudybot
jlf: yes, this is true
jlf
(Action) is convinced
benaiah
you guys are reminding me of one of the best futurama episodes
where bender starts arguing that robots evolved, and the professor comes in as the staunch scientific advocate of robot intelligent design

hodapp
lol
I love Futurama

benaiah: Let's do first-fit line wrapping.
cvandusen
rudybot: why not depth-first line wrapping?
rudybot
cvandusen: I'm trying to write an attack graph simulation in Racket + Datalog, as it seems a natural fit, but it's a depth-first search and I'd like to keep as much as possible within the Datalog theory without having to define clauses that depend on external information.

i accidentally made one of my packages emacs 25 only ._.
bremner
fine, be like that.
escondida
holomorph: Could be worse. You could've made it emacs 21.4 only
contrapunctus
holomorph: or emacs 16.56 only.
holomorph: courtesy wasamasa - https://github.com/larsbrinkhoff/emacs-16.56
holomorph
escondida: eek
wasamasa
I thought it's only possible to specify a minimum version
holomorph
escondida: the kicker is i actually made it emacs 24 compatible some time ago >.<
escondida
wasamasa: I mean, you could make it depend on older behaviors or deprecated functions or something
wasamasa
escondida: well, ok
escondida: but that should be pretty uncommon

escondida
or: How do you deal with all the highlights?
wasamasa
escondida: and if anything, it should be relatively simple to port
holomorph
i couldn't even my simplest library or even my init.el work on emacs 21 D:
but hey, paredit worked
Fuco
is today some gay awareness day? Or why does github have rainbow logo? :O
contrapunctus

wasamasa
ah, so that's the connection
holomorph
ijp

It is certain
rudybot

Fuco: state vs federal law, and the issue of state support of contracts engaged in out of state and all that fun stuff.
Fuco: which to me is one of the obvious cornerstones of a federation of independent states. agreement to honor contracts formed in other states. otherwise what's the point? I don't have to fulfill my agreement with you because we didn't sign the service contract in your state?
jlf
Fuco: benaiah: fixing the typo detracts from the authenticity. sh*t#emacssays is about keeping it real, yo.

Hi, when performing an emacs regex expression with capture groups how does one access the matched groups in a replace-regex?
escondida
dustfinger: \1, \2, \3, etc.
ryouma
or match-string
or match-beginning etc.
(for efficiency)
benaiah
(Action) wonders how hard it would be to switch out the regex engine in isearch et. al. to call out to an external PCRE-compatible implementation
doofy
in org-mode I can C-c to step in to a buffer to edit/execute source code (R code for example). Any suggestions on how I could bind a key to execute the code within the source block without stepping in to it? Say I wanted to run (ess-eval-buffer VIS)
jlf
benaiah: why not just link in libpcre?
dustfinger
escondida: Thank you. I found it in the documentation eventually :-)
benaiah
doofy: org-babel-execute-src-block
doofy: actually, org-babel-execute-maybe is the one with a predefined keybinding (C-c C-v C-e)
