python476
hi back
buzzykins
hello
Lionyx
how do i use weechat inside emcas? I installed the melpa package. launched weechat-connect but i can't get ir connected... kind of times out...
emacs*
wasamasa
you need to connect to a weechat relay
that's how this emacs client for it works
python476
what's that tiny `macro` syntax to generate quick series of text again ?
gosh I `fixed` my SSD, my computer is so fast now, I think even my fingers are typing faster ... them geeks
Lionyx
hummm... ill get more info. tks wasamasa
wasamasa
Lionyx: basically, weechat plays server and emacs plays client
Lionyx: you can do this with other clients as well, like glowing bear (web client)
Lionyx
see it. never heard of glowing bear before :D
python476
okay let's embed guile repl in an opengl 2.1 loop

didi
Let's port OpenGL to Guile.
python476
let's openguile to gl
didi
Gluile.
holomorph
https://www.gnu.org/software/guile-opengl/ >.>
didi
holomorph: That is the other way around.
We want to run OpenGL on top of Guile.
holomorph
:S
python476
Gluile is such an odd sounding name
aight, I have the SDL OPENGL frame
aight, I have the guile repl
didi
Where are the opengl widgets?
python476
but now I don't have the SDL frame anymore
didi
,g opengl widget
fsbot
didi
Nah. No Qt.
Not*
python476
didi: let's have a few declarative forms eval'd as opengl begin .. end statements
then build everything else as macros
didi
python476: Make me a make-window() and we are settled.
"settled"? This doesn't sound right.
python476
it does to my non english ears
didi
(Action) hugs python476
I like you.
python476
let's make ..install
afschw
That sounds so wrong.
Digit
that makes me rethink my notions of what to call my firstborn... middle name, "output", first name: "error"
afschw
Digit: Give it away for adoption.

Digit
an act which i will call a bug report
afschw
You don't have much of a social life, do you.
Digit
thnx to severe social anxiety, correct.
Lokathor
does emacs not have a "redo" function that's the opposite of undo?
emacsomancer
Lokathor: not directly.
Digit
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3527142/how-do-you-redo-changes-after-undo-with-emacs http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/RedoMode https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Undo.html http://ergoemacs.org/emacs/emacs_best_redo_mode.html just the first 4 ddg results for emacs redo
rudybot
http://teensy.info/vn8Y0UDAR7
emacsomancer
Lokathor: I find the package undo-tree very helpful
buzzykins
it's like a queue of undos, so to redo you do something and then undo that action
emacsomancer
that "something" can be C-g
Lokathor
so if i want to undo, say, 3 steps, and then i press undo four times, what's the simplest way to go forward one step
just, C-g or something then another undo?
bremner
Can I not have an A record and AAAA record for the same domain name?
avar
Sure you can, that's the whole point of A and AAAA records
$ dig +short google.com A
$ dig +short google.com AAAA
bremner
huh. well I wonder why the AAAA record that shows up in the web UI isn't propagated after 5 hours.
(Action) steels himself to ask for support on a web foru,
avar
bremner: You have to find out what the canonical DNS server is. Then you dig @THAT-SERVER domain SOA
That'll tell you what the propagation cache policy is.
Maybe you have e.g. a 24hr cache policy
You may also be using a non-compliant DNS server, some ISPs override TTL to e.g. 24hrs
bremner
the weird thing is an IP4 change I made at the same time propagated
the last part of the SOA is: 1448132724 2400 360 1209600 7200
Lokathor
can one set a flag in emacs to make the buffer list always have a fixed ordering?
any fixed ordering at all would be fine, alphabetical, creation order, some arbitrary fixed order, I just don't want the buffer ordering to chang when the selected buffer changes
anks
does any1 have problem with updated helm? Mine is "Invalid function: with-helm-buffer".

decided to give spacemacs a try tonight as a break from my config. I spun it up just now, but the modeline (I think it's powerline?) seems to be twice the correct height and some of the spacers seem slightly in the incorrect spots. Oddly enough terminal emacs seems to display correctly. Any idea what this could be?
bremner
,spacemacs
fsbot
I heard spacemacs is [0] A Emacs distribution centered around evil-mode, with the tag line "the best editor is neither Emacs nor Vim, it's Emacs *and Vim"
[1] at https://github.com/syl20bnr/spacemacs
[2] Support is available at https://gitter.im/syl20bnr/spacemacs
[3] see also the #spacemacs channel on this network
jdahm
OK, I was asking more generally about powerline if someone knew about the issue
but meh I think I'll go back to my config
didi`
Pixel perfect? On my Emacs??
fsbot
No

Hey guys, anyone know what happend to diredp-hide-details-intially-flag in emacs 25? And what is the current state of dired-details? It looks like dired-details and dired-details+ are somehow already included.
onmyo
oh *that's* what happened to dired when i upgraded
plumbus
hello. why does it appear that visual-line-mode ends some lines way too early?
