like e.g. how to have this colleague of mine not changing subjet when he tells he loves closures in javascript and the newer php 5.3 and I answer, try lisp, closure are from the 60s
jordanb

dim
offering a random new subject for distraction
goplexian
jordanb, that lisp is old
jordanb
I like it how PHP has included lisp's clusterfu*k notion of equality.
Well, not quite as bad as in lisp, but dern close.
kodein
I like it how I don't have to code php
jlf
php is a clusterfu*k attractor
goplexian
there will one day come a time when lisp will be older than anyone who writes in it, not many technologies can say

jordanb
Since lisp is a golden turd from god, sane equality must indicate a less awesome langauge.
By having broken equality, PHP manages to approach lispness!
technomancy
goplexian: that's kind of cheating though, nobody currently alive writes in Lisp 1.5 or MacLisp

I have a buffer full of various repeating lines. How can i count the occurrance of each? There are quite a few distinct lines.
ams
subopt: M-x occur
count-matches
so many things you could use

technomancy: i shared that faint hope but reality is much crueller than that, oh well i guess i can regain some joy in the fact that the mac fanboys are all excited due to being able to use voip and so on on their latest toy (which i already could do in my _very_ old and outdated mobile since i bought it)

obviously fsbot just got closer to the turing award with that answer

The Multistrada competes in the same niche market as do other multi-purpose and dual-sport motorcycles such as the BMW GS, but even according to the owners manual the Multistrada is not intended for off-road use despite its off-road inspired design.
heh

I knew it looked like a bmw
fledermaus
sword: dunno. I have no plans for a long motorbike trip, but currently I have no motorised transport so long road trips aren't on the cards.
cluck
fledermaus: seriously now, assuming >250cc and that you're in europe, the vast majority with a decent price quality in the last few years are all japanese (though i confess i have a sweet spot in my heart for a couple bmws even though some are kind of ugly)
fledermaus
cluck: well it was likely a multistrada or something japanese, but which one, if japanese?

Sketch: i've had better for free :D (praise the lord and his noodly appendages)
fledermaus
right, time to bail out of the office.
cluck
fledermaus: in that case try starting with bmw and then looking/comparing equivalents (bmw has several good ones in that range and so are always a good reference but they can be pricey or ugly in some models)
