fabio: There are work being done on enabling CentOS on Raspberry Pi 2, see http://seven.centos.org/2015/06/another-proof-of-concept-armv7hl-release-this-one-for-the-raspberry-pi2/ for the latest I can find about that. Looks like hughesjr is the one poking at that

i'm seeing RX errors build on NICs on some of my physical server, they all seem to be counted as "overruns". These are using the bnx2x driver. I'm not totally sure where to go with this, google didn't turn up much for me.
acidrainfall
ugh bnx2
worst driver ever
dfinn
i seem to remember having issues with it in the past
but it also seems like so many NICs use it
acidrainfall
I've had more than I can count
It's the broadcom driver
dfinn
yup
i'm half wondering if this issue is a config problem on our end since I'm seeing it on multiple servers
I"m pretty sure it's not hardware anyways
either config or driver
acidrainfall
dfinn: kernel 2.7?
2.6**?
dfinn
i was going to send an email to the netdev linux mail list but it looks like that is more related to driver development
2.6
acidrainfall
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1726045.html
Does that apply?

dfinn
Cent 6.6
no, that doesn't apply
acidrainfall
Aw
dfinn
he's getting dropped packets, I'm not getting that
let me show an ifconfig output
mine are all overruns
acidrainfall
please

how do you find out what devices make up a bond? i thought there was an entry under /sys/class/net/$BOND/bonding/slaves but that doesn't appear to exist
take that back, I found it
it wasn't there for the alias but the main bond0 had it

fabio: I have built a bunch of packages over the last couple of weeks ... I will be hitting arm32 heavy again after the 6.7 release happens
fabio: but if you look here: http://armv7.dev.centos.org/repodir/c7-pass-1/?C=M;O=D
I bunch of new stuff built since 7/17/2015

hughesjr, hi! thats awesome!
hughesjr, i would like to help you
but i'm afraid that i've not got the skills
acidrainfall
dfinn: sorry got dragged into a meeting
dfinn
no worries, i was just getting some info ready to send to the netdev list
hwdplinux
Can anyone tell me where libvirt volume xml files are stored on rhel6.x?
PryMar56
hwdplinux, somewhere under /var
var/lib/qemu maybe
hwdplinux
PryMar56 tried there
phy1729
Why is ed not in base and what should I use in it's stead?
DiscordianUK
ex or vim
acidrainfall
ed?
Bahhumbug
Dawn of History line-based editor.
phy1729
it's POSIX so I figured it'd be everywhere
Bahhumbug
It's also SUS if memory serves but Linux is, well, neither :)
DiscordianUK
It was normal in early SysV
Linux never did make the single unix spec
There was an outfit here called lasermoon who tried for it
Bahhumbug

I'm honestly not sure it matters anymore. Linux is so widespread now that other UNIXes are trying to be more like Linux, so in a round-about sort of way, Linux has become the standard.
DiscordianUK
The trouble is ,it's becoming LennartOS
Arbition
no no, lennux was the one I heard
phy1729
have to have the x
Sokel
When I run a systemctl status httpd, it shows me the process is running, but a prompt never returns... I see no logs or anything. It just hangs. Is there any reason why it would just hang?
axisys
how do let some users to login with local password? currently I only have this for auth in /etc/pam.d/sshd
auth sufficient pam_radius_auth.so
phy1729
axisys: Match User in sshd_config
axisys
phy1729: that works for pubkeyauthentication
but how do I force local password?
I was hoping for some pam stacking trick..
so far try_first_pass and use_first_pass did not work
phy1729
axisys: you have two users with the same name one remote and one local?
axisys
with auth sufficient pam_radius_auth.so for pam.d/sshd and UsePam yes forces all users to login with securid.. except pubkeyauth based login
unless I do some pam stacking magic correctly.. which I need help with
I tried to put auth include password-auth before and used try_first_pass option for radius.. and no go
phy1729
you just want PubkeyAuthenticaion no
axisys
phy1729: nawp...
local for some and radius for rest
so need to find to stack pam_unix and pam_radius correctly ..
so need to find a way to stack pam_unix and pam_radius correctly ..

Given two systems installed a few days apart with the same updates.. why would binaries have different MD5 sum values?
Dan0maN_lt
are you sure they have the same updates?
sovern
Dan0maN_lt: built 100% from puppet.
Dan0maN_lt
perform an 'rpm -qa > /tmp/sysN' on each system, replacing N with the system number (1 or 2), then perform a diff on them
sovern
be1c9a1904787dd0f406989c5b3e4c3d /usr/bin/sqlite3
cef56ebf602492718841e3ed972a2c69 /usr/bin/sqlite3
9a1ac933336d0d2a81718d24e685a97f /usr/bin/sqlite3
Dan0maN_lt
rpm -V sqlite
on each system to ensure they weren't tampered with
sovern
6 servers, all different md5's.
no output...
TommyC
Are they all the same version of CentOS?
Dan0maN_lt
then rpm -q sqlite
sovern
TommyC: identical. Centos 6.3. Clean installs.
Just checked 781 hosts, all different MD5's.
TommyC
So 781 different hosts each have different /usr/bin/sqlite3's? That's suspicious...
DiscordianUK
6.3 ?
sovern
TommyC: almost all binaries have different MD5 sums.
DiscordianUK: yep
DiscordianUK
6.6 is current
sovern
Yep.
Fight the battles you can fight my friend.
TommyC
Wouldn't make sense for a 6.3 release to have different md5sums for /usr/bin/sqlite3 though.
Dan0maN_lt
still haven't seen the rpm -q sqlite. what version of rpms on all of them?
TommyC
(Assuming same exactly sqlite package of course)
sovern
TommyC: and its *most* binaries..
ssh servermadetoday01 -C "rpm -q sqlite"
« prev 1 2 3 4 5 6 next »
