Hey. I'm in the process of defecting from Ubuntu 14.04. Has anyone been able to setup the mlnx_ofed packages while using kernel-ml?

In amazon linux, I want to setup openvpn server, with 1 openvpn client, as simple as possible, is this the right place to ask?
wolfy
crised: neither openvpn nor amazon linux are really supported here. but if you do a yum install openvpn and read the docs that come with it, you should be golden
crised
wolfy: do I need to create certificates and stuff like that?
is it a must?
wolfy
yes, it is.

OpenVZ kernels (any kernel that returns 'stab' as part of the kernel version via uname -a) do not have access to hardware resources, including loadable modules needed for some firewall options, selinux, TUN/tAP support, ability to modify server time among other functions. You need to contact your provider for more assistance.

Hello guys. Quick question for ya: Is there such a thing as a DNS that first tries to answer before relaying the request further on if it finds nothing locally?

wolfy
johndoe2: that's the default behaviour for caching dns
johndoe2
wolfy: awesome. Thanks so much!

I'm doing a fresh install. Is there a difference between 7 and 7.1.1503? Will one give me newer packages?
johndoe2
dgbaley: you can read the release notes for that build here: http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS7 Probably wanna check #5, #6 and #9
Sokel
Regardless of what you install, you may as well yum update. It will take you to 7.1.1503 and any other important updates that have released.
pj
dgbaley: 7 refers to the latest 7 which currently is 7.1, you should be using 7 as that will always give you the latest packages.
dgbaley
pj: I installed with the .1.1503 in the mirror url. I've since updated everything to the latest -- anything I should do correct it to plain 7 at this point? I don't see any references to "1503" under /etc/yum*

pj
dgbaley: shoudl be fine
