Hi, from what I understand in centos when updates applied the upstream version doesn't change, is that correct?

Evolution, ok, that's what I thought the version of the software doesn't change
For instance if I for instance Tomcat 7.057, it doesn't mean that my installation is vulnerable, right?
fenrus02
likely patched . . . but you'd have to look for the CVE announcement on redhat.com's site.

hi
does anybody know if centos 7.2 will come with dnf as default?
MerlinTHP
centos 7 will likely never have dnf as default.
Evolution
soulisson: correct. so long as you have the latest version of tomcat we ship.
amundsen: nope. not gonna happen in the forseeable future.

soulisson
Evolution, thanks

I can't imagine how many scripts would break if dnf became the default.
MerlinTHP
(Action) smirks.
amundsen
so that will happen in centos 8 perhaps?
Evolution
possibly.
we won't know for quite some time.
