Twigathy_
It does?
I know you can assign things using gconf editor, but the extra buttons I cant exactly say "STOP" mapped to "mpc stop" for those
lettuce
you don't need to use the gconf editor
Twigathy_
What do I use then? :o
lettuce
Applications -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts
Twigathy_
ohhh, shiny!
i can poke buttons and it does things :)
lettuce
indeed
Twigathy_
hmm, the log out and sleep keys dont appear to be mappable in that application, anything I can do about it?
lettuce
they are under the "desktop" section
Twigathy_
well, I see them there yes....but poking the "sleep" button doesnt show up a "shortcut" like the other keys do (e.g. volume mute is mapped to the key 0xae

lettuce
you probably need to configure X to check for that input
okay, that was a horrible statment
*statement
Twigathy_
heh, "configure X correctly", maybe ;)
lettuce
it sounds like X isn't bothering to pass on the keycode for those buttons
unfortunately, i dno't remember how to do that
Twigathy_
ok
lettuce
and it may be the case that you need a little program for it like the one you were asking about earlier
Twigathy_
yah, none of the ones I have found so far compile
lettuce
welcome to the world of open source
Twigathy_
>_<
well, the compiles both failed because the version of GTK in CentOS is too old for them
yay, lineak seems to fit the bill. Compiles fine and should allow me to set up and forget about it :)

hello
guilherme-jorge
hello all, Is it possible to implement a DRBD structure, where all servers works as master and slaves at the same time??
snowfaked
any idea where to look when i get an error that my disk is full, even though there's 100GB free
Dyson
snowfaked: df -i
Evolution
snowfaked: check your inodes
snowfaked
only 1% used
Mr_AdIo
snowfaked, might be a bunch of small files. inodes..
Evolution
snowfaked: no. df -i shows you something much different
snowfaked
402374656 92487 402282169 1% /
Evolution
either that or you have a runaway application hogging loads of space
snowfaked
3.0T 2.9T 0 100% /
Dyson
hrhr

Evolution
snowfaked: time to check your applications.
Dyson
snowfaked: that doesn't actually mean there are 100 GB free
snowfaked: what filesystem are you using?
snowfaked
ext3
Evolution
snowfaked: ah. You're running into root's reserved space.
Dyson
snowfaked: probably
snowfaked
ah yes the 5%
what was the command to verify it
that there is space reserved
Evolution
no need. just assume I'm write and work from there :-P
(Action) learned that line from his boss last week.
complete with misspellings
Dyson
snowfaked: just try to write data as root and then try the same as some other user
:)
snowfaked
ok it seems that the program is working as root, and i'm unable to write more files there even when being root user
Dyson
snowfaked: maybe the fs ist actually really full
snowfaked
just deleteg 100GB from there
Dyson
snowfaked: the output of df isn't always 100% accurate
snowfaked
what was the command to show how much space is reserved for root
Dyson
snowfaked: i don't know of any command
snowfaked: but default is 5% of the filesystem's blocks
snowfaked: which is about 150 GB for such a filesystem
Mr_AdIo
guilherme-jorge, active-active in a way?
snowfaked
hmh i remember seeing some output from some command that shows the amount
but it's not the case here as i've been trying to write files as a rot
lettuce
yeah, mkfs
range
Re.
Mr_AdIo
arg.. have to learn the insane xml-confnig for Heartbeat2 soon....
config
Dyson
snowfaked: as I said
snowfaked: maybe the fs is really filled up
snowfaked: and df doesn't calculate the correct values for size or used
snowfaked
i just removed 100GB of files from there
Dyson
snowfaked: are you sure the files weren't open?
snowfaked
i tried even to reboot the server (it wasn't production server;)
so no, theyre not open
Dyson
snowfaked: hmm...
snowfaked: maybe you could run fsck? *duck*
snowfaked: I know it will take ages, but maybe there's something wrong with the fs?
snowfaked: or is this issue application-dependant?
snowfaked: i.e. can you create files and write data with other applications?
snowfaked
nope, i tried to create a small file with dd but it failed
Dyson
hmm... you deleted files and still won't get any free space?
snowfaked
yep
Sneaky_Bastard
hmmmm
Dyson
snowfaked: hmm... maybe ext3 journal-stuff is using some space?
snowfaked: but after all, you should be able to write to the fs after you delete data
weird_guy
snowfaked: all the times I had this problem , only running fsck solved the problem
snowfaked
ok i'll have to try it
Dyson
this will actually suck hard...
rene-
hi!, how can i tell weather i am running centos in SELinux mode or not?
Dyson
rene-: getenforce
rene-: will tell you "Enforcing" or "Permissive" or "Disabled" iirc
rene-
thanks!
i need to masquerade from lan interface eth1 to internet interface eth0, will this work? iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
hi all
TheCarNinja
I'm trying to find a decent Postfix+Dovecot+MySQL guide. I can find plenty of Courier-Imap and I found a half finished non-working Dovecot, can anyone point me to one that is finished?
eger
TheCarNinja, seen this one http://bliki.rimuhosting.com/space/knowledgebase/linux/mail/postfixadmin+on+debian+sarge

sometimes there's no spoon and you have to read documentation

How can I easily setup ntpd to sync to a bunch of other servers? the ntp.conf seems pretty confusing all kinds of crazy options and such.
I just want to sync my server with others fairly accurately.
aitrus
# --- OUR TIMESERVERS -----
server 0.pool.ntp.org
server 1.pool.ntp.org
server 2.pool.ntp.org
pretty confusing
sid
eh, the default ntp.conf has all kinds of sh*t in it.
aitrus
yeah, with comments
sid
Where can I get a list of server?
aitrus
google
search for ntp servers
dtm
ntp == crazy
he figured it out!
aitrus

Sn3k3UC

aitrus
rdate -s time.nist.gov =)
WJames|lappy
how do i install irssi?
Evolution
yum install irssi
assuming you have either the dag or kbs-extras repositories enabled.
WJames|lappy
how do i enable the repos
?
Evolution
by installing the files needed for them from either dag.wieers.com/packages/rpmforge-release or centos.karan.org
http://wiki.centos.org/Repositories
WJames|lappy
Thanks
joobie
